How are you going about tummy/floor time?? So nervous he'll be behind bc he hasn't been on floor much. Right now we have a mat and pack in play. But he's learned to turn over pretty well and usually just turns over immediately when placed on his belly. LOL

Not sure what the problem is? When DS was small, we had him on a play gym. As he got bored of it I'd just put a blanket down. Now that he's mobile there's no point in worrying about putting anything down, he just crawls away anyway.

I put a blanket down, mostly to save our rugs from spit-up and to give a little cushion if DS falls over from sitting or rolls over and bumps his head. I also keep his Boppy or pillows handy so I don't always have to sit right behind him when he's sitting. I also try to give him time on the den carpet so he can try crawling. I figure if he ever does crawl, it will be a lot easier to do on the Berber in there than the slick hardwood everywhere else.

We have a little letter mat that dd likes to roll around on but before that we just laid a blanket down. I figure she is going to hit her head on the floor sooner or later so she should probably learn to control her head a little.

We either use his playmat or just lay a blanket down.  DS hates tummy time and any time I lay him on his tummy, he rolls over right away!  So he's not trying to crawl yet, but he can scoot across the room on his back with his little legs bent. It's pretty funny!

We have an area rug that he lays on to play, but he rolls right off it. Now that hes more mobile there is nothing we can do, he just rolls onto the hardwood floor. Im always affraid he's gonna bump his head but so far he's been fine. GL!

area rug, blankets, and in her "playroom" I bought those foam alphabet floor tiles and covered a good portion of the floor with them.

We also got the foam alphabet tiles but now that he is pre-crawling he is only interested in chewing on the edges of the tiles, and exploring everything outside the tiled area. I guess that means it's time to get some new toys.

We also have the foam tiles, but now our super crawler wants to be everywhere but on the mat.

Our little guy loved tummy time on his blankets, until he started pushing to crawl, then the slippy hard wood floors made his legs slide out from under him and he got frustrated. I bought non-slip shelf liners (at Dollar Tree) and rolled them under a rug. Now those keep the rugs/blankets from sliding on the floor and he can move easily.

We have tile and she's doing just fine.  I try to start her on the area rug, but she shimmies herself off of it and onto the cold tile.  She doesn't seem to mind.  She's also bumped her head a couple of times on the tile through the area rug.  She cried, but she's ok.  There will be some bumps along the way.

We do this as well.  We put a foam mat down and then a couple of blankets over it.
