September 2013 Moms

Hello!

This is my first pregnancy. I am due September 25th. I am very excited but more nervous. I hear all of these horror stories about morning sickness.  I don't like getting sick. I honestly have not thrown up my whole life if you can believe it.  Of course I did when I was a baby. I had my OBGYN prescribe me anti nausea medicine already! I am a nervous wreck. I know every pregnancy is different so it might not even happen. Is anyone in the same boat or am I just crazy?

Re: Hello!

  • It is different for each pregnancy and each individual. I did not have "morning sickness" with my son. I did have insane heartburn though.

So far with this I have had mild headaches and nausea. No throwing up yet though "knock on wood".

Hope you have a morning sickness free pregnancy :

  • This is a big fear for me too.  I am seriously taking every bit of advice I hear on how to deal with MS.  I have had a few days with nausea so far and have managed through.

  • Don't stress about ms until it happens. I've only thrown up once as an adult, and it was the result of international travel. I was terrified of ms, but I only had mild nausea in my first pregnancy and it's even milder this go around. I count myself lucky, and you might be in the same boat since you don't get sick easily.

Congrats and welcome to the board!

  • You're not crazy, I have an intense dread of throwing up as well.  The thing is though, I feel like the anticipation is actually worse than the actual event - once you've thrown up sometimes you feel better.  Try not to stress.

FWIW I only threw up twice with my DS. It is well worth it, I promise.
