PIC/SIGGY WARNING
I was looking back at my AFC (antral follicle count) taken in 2011 and got to thinking about something. My RE did my AFC on CD 7 instead of on CD 3--just how he does it in his practice. The issue is, I took Clomid that cycle on days 5-9. I don't think the RE even realized at the time that I was taking Clomid--even though he is the one who prescribed the Clomid--by the way he was talking. I didn't think anything about it at the time, but having since learned alot more about all of this, it got me wondering if this could have affected my AFC count.
Would the fact that I had taken Clomid on the 3 days leading up to my AFC have affected my AFC? I mean, isn't Clomid designed to promote follicle development? Could it have made my AFC higher than it otherwise would have been?
ps - The reason I am asking is because I plan to go get some testing done (AMH, FSH, etc.) soon since it has been awhile now since my last set of tests to see where everything is now and to make sure my DOR isn't getting worse.

Re: XP: (pic/sig warning) Would taking Clomid CD 5-9 affect AFC taken on CD 7?
My RE said AFC can be accurately measured in a range of days during your cycle, not just CD3. They only have to use CD3 if they're collecting data for a paper or a study of some kind.
I don't know how/if the clomid would affect it. My tendency would be to say it wouldn't affect it, it only affects how many of those follicles are matured. But I'm not completely sure.
