It's been just over a month now that DS hasn't STTN. And by not STTN I mean once he wakes up the first time which is usually 14 hours after going down, he's up every 30 to 60 minutes crying or screaming. Sometimes his eyes are closed like he's still asleep but he'll be crying SO hard! We will go in and rub his belly or give him his paci and usually, not always, he will calm back down and sleep. Other times we try letting him go back to sleep on his own but without fail he rolls over onto his stomach and then the real screaming begins, as he hates being on his stomach and can't roll back over. If he wasn't awake yet, he is at that point. We want to try sleep training but I don't know how given the fact that he ends up on his stomach and can't get back. It'd be fine if he liked being on his tummy and went back to sleep that way, but that is DEFINITELY not the case. Any advice? DH and I are so exhausted. It's been six to eight times a night he's been crying and or waking since mid December. TIA

Re: Still not sleeping
I'm confused. He wakes up 14 hours after going down? I'm tired and perhaps not understanding clearly.
Does he have gas? Is he trying to roll over and getting frustrated? This might just have to be one of those things that he works through overtime. My LO hated sleeping on his belly but would roll halfway over, get stuck, and scream. It went on and on for weeks until he managed to get himself on his belly and off his belly with no issues.
our LO started to STTN around 3 months old, around 6 months she stopped, and started waking up 2-6 times a night again, and only maybe once to feed, the other times she either needed her binky, or to be held and rocked back to sleep. that slowly lessened over time, and about 3-4 days ago, she started STTN again, for about a 10 hour stretch, 8pm-6am. for us it was a phase, and she out grew it. we aren't doing any sleep training, and we are just following her wants and needs. it was very tiring, but DD out grew it.
also, our DD has been able to rolling back and forth since about 3 months too, and she loves to sleep on her belly.
GL!
Oh sorry there was a dash in there but I'm on my phone and forgot it doesn't show those. Should have said 1 to 4 hours after going down. Haha if he was waking up 14 hours after going down I'd be worried for the opposite reason lol!

This. We were actually having the same issue before we sleep trained and DS actually rolled over during the nights we did and learned to fall asleep on his tummy. Now he actually will roll over and go to sleep without a peep some nights. He loves sleeping on his stomach now. I never thought that day would come.
