Hi ladies!  Hope you all had a great week! 

 

No BFP announcements this week.

 

This is a check in for those of us that are TTC #2 or more and that have had one or more losses. A few board members thought it would be nice to connect with other 2IF ladies who have had losses since it's nice to have the support and friendship of others going through similar experiences.

 

Check in is every Friday (even though this week I was a day late - sorry!). Please note it may not be until afternoon or evening but I am planning to keep it going every Friday!

**Note: Also, just because I feel a little self-conscious about this and feel like I should state a disclaimer of sorts.  I know REALLY basically nothing about IVF or much about any medical intervention for fertility at this time.  My own journey is more than likely going to take me down some medical intervention path, but it hasn't yet and I am learning from all of you so please forgive me if I don't understand a lot of references yet!

 

egsquared - How are things going?  I saw your post about your first monitoring appointment and I think it sounds like it went well?  Please bring us up to date on how it's all going!

iloveshanej - I'm sorry to see it looks like you missed ovulation.  But from your post, it sounds like the break might be a good time due to your move coming up?  How are things going for your preparation?  Are you moving very far?

 

laurid75 - How did your ultrasound go today?!?? Saw your post and hope it went well! Do you know anything yet from your testing? 

 

Lauren79 - I saw your most recent post about the methotrexate.  I am thinking of you because as I'm posting this you probably just had the shot!  I'm so sorry you're going through all of this.  I hope you were able to get the information you were looking for in terms of what to expect regarding side effects and just hope you can move on with healing soon.  ((((hugs))))   

ttcmbbaby - How are you doing?  Saw your thread about your being immersed with pregnant women all around you   Sorry to hear all of that   It can be so hard to see that with all that you're going through... just sending lots of good wishes your way.  Also, I hope you found out if you O'd and got some BDing in!

 

kimberm0511 - Welcome!  Although, I'm sorry anyone has gone through the losses that have brought us together.  And I am so sorry for all you're going through with your recent loss.  How are you feeling?  I saw that you had your D & C yesterday.  Please reach out to myself or anyone here if we can be of any additional support during this time.  I have had the experience of both natural miscarriage and D & C.  There is also a Miscarriage/Loss board that I found very helpful in terms of questions and if you haven't checked it out yet it might be helpful to you also.  ((((many, many hugs))))

 

efhoping2010 - How are things with you?  I am so sorry things have been so tough, but am glad you are able to maintain some hope about future plans and bringing your focus to that hope in the future.  Please let us know how you're doing.

 

KKDRAGONFLY - Sorry you're out this cycle with DH traveling.  How is everything else with you?

 

jennaqueena - How did your first monitoring appointment for IVF #2 go?  How are you feeling?  I hope everything's going well!

 

SigmundsGirl - How are you doing with the Clomid?   I know you were concerned about the side effects and I hope they are not too bad.  Good luck with your CD 12 monitoring coming up this week!

As for me...

It's been a busy week!  Got a lot of info back from my CD 3 bloodwork and ultrasound as well as my sonohysterogram which was yesterday. Have the HSG super early Tue morning. 

So far everything is pretty normal.  Which, for being AMA, I'm feeling really great about so far.  Although I don't have the AMH testing back yet and I know that's one of the key indicators.  But I had 13 follicles on day 3 and normal FSH, LH, E2, Prolactin, and thyroid levels. 

I posted earlier about some questions I had about whether or not my TSH levels were really okay or not.  Thankfully, it turns out I had a couple people I knew from high school, one a midwife, and one an endocrinologist (he may even be an RE I'm not sure), both who told me that as long as I tested negative for the thyroid antibodies the range of TSH I had was okay.  So having that reassurance from two sources of people I know that are backing up what my RE advised makes me feel a million times better.

The sono yesterday showed things looking farily good.  My biggest concern was that my prior c section left some terrible scarring but in fact he said it had all healed beautifully and all looked great.  He did see a fybroid but he said it wasn't in a location that was any worry at all.  The one thing he saw that was kind of something he needs to look into is that I had some calicifications appearing.  Not a whole lot, but enough that covered about 1/3 of the available surface for implantation.  He didn't say much more about it other than that he wasn't worried about that being the cause because it was such a small area.  But that he wanted to do some more research.

So, I'm waiting for more testing and more results and my appointment to meet with him is currently scheduled for 2/12.  The thing that will take longest at this point is MH karyotyping because we just had that drawn yesterday.  By then everything should be back.  And if everything goes "according to plan" (ha!  how often does that happen??), I may still be able to not miss another FW next month.

My D&C yesterday went as well as it could.  I didn't get emotional, surprisingly.  I was a ball of nerves and felt a little sad when I woke up from the anesthesia, but was ready to get home.  My RE wants me to wait until AF and then a full cycle before starting our FET.  Originally, he said I could do it as soon as my next cycle starts, but told DH differently yesterday.  I will double check at my d&c follow up appt in 2 wks.  Feeling pretty good.  Very mild cramping..had a TON of sleep last night.  My boys are with their dad this weekend, so I am getting a lot of rest.  I'm getting anxious to get out though.  Today is the first nice day we've had in awhile, so I wish I could get out and enjoy it!

 

QOTW:  Oh man...our pets....My DH and I had 6 pets for awhile (3 dogs and 3 cats).  I know I know...WAY too many.  I lost one cat and my Chihuahua over the past year though.  Very sad because they were both pets I had since college.  The cat actually secretly lived in my freshman dorm with me!  We are left with the four.  Two 1 yr old lab/golden retriever mixes (brothers).  We actually birthed them in our bathroom last Christmas Eve.  (Long story involved there, but we temporarily had the mother)  We are also left with two cats who I hate.  One pees on everything and the other scratches up the furniture.  Ugh...I am usually a cat person, but not lately.

I posted a little while ago but will update here too. Had my day 11 ultrasound this morning and he saw one follicle 18 mm on left side. Nothing on the right but I guess one is better than none and 1 is better than 5 : he wants it to get to 22. Back tomorrow for U/S and if it grew they trigger me there and IUI Monday....

I am having a really bad day today.  I had the injections the other day.  They were honestly no big deal.  I go Monday for another hcg check.

You can read the longer update in nawlinsgirl and my thread above, but basically RE seems to think this might be the best I will respond to IVF meds.  Headed to the RE again in the early am for another u/s. I have to admit I don't want to cancel bc all this wasted meds and shots....it's a lot of effort and work. Soooo possibly retrieval early this week.  Guess I should get to bed!!  Will updated tomorrow, I promise!

Thanks! I think the break may really help! We are moving about 15 minutes away so not far! We are so ready!I have friends coming this week to help me pack! I have the entire house cleaned out and organized so it should go smoothly, I hope! Haha!

I was waiting to post here until today.  I had a monitoring appointment this morning, and just got the call that we will be triggering tonight.  Wish me luck ladies! 

QOTW:  No pets here.  The only pet I've ever had was a goldfish in grade school named Sparky.  Someone he accidently went down the sink drain?  I was too little to really know what was going on, so I'm not sure if he was still alive at that point or not.  And as an adult, I've never asked my mom what really happened. lol.

Update: I'm happy to say the Clomid side effects weren't too bad this time. I have my CD12 monitoring tomorrow morning and will find out when we trigger. For some reason I am really nervous about this cycle. Probably because we will have to wait a few cycles since I will be traveling to India for work. And then DH and I need to decide if we even want to keep trying. I'm 38, DS will be 3 in a few months, and we have been trying with our 'RE for a year. If I were younger I might feel differently.

QOTW: We don't have any pets, but we would love to have a dog when DS is older.

Feeling down insurance company still refuses to pay for my D&C surgery last summer even though they originally said they would.  Their latest excuse is it was not life threatening enough So that is $10,000 we do not have   Still hoping for IVF/ICSI #3 in late March.  Wishing everyone well.
