Immature egg quality

Well after taking another test this morning and it being BFN I'm not feeling very hopeful about this cycle. Out of 21 eggs this cycle only 8 were mature. Last cycle all 5 they retrieved were immature. Is anyone else dealing with immature egg issues? What did your RE do for a protocol? My RE just mentioned stimming longer but not changing anything else. I just feel like that won't help anything.

Hmm, I know during my first cycle I was astonished by my single mature embie. At our wtf, RE mentioned beginning me at a highter dosage for times and perhaps skipping bcp. I believe I was over-suppressed at stimmed too low (however, I did stim for 12 days). Considering my age and size, they thought starting low was best. but not so much! I was also really concerned that I may have an egg quality issue, but none of the blood work revealed that.

I hope that your hpt is wrong.  I have egg quality issues, but I did stim for 12 days because the follicles were slow and 9 out of the 10 were mature.  2 made it to transfer with nothing to freeze.  So maybe if your quality is good he will have you stim longer.  I wish you nothing but the best.

Well, I sure hope that dumb POAS is wrong. I don't have any suggestions really, as I have the opposite problem. I only get 4-5 eggs, but all are mature. Put us together and we'd be rockstars:-)  I don't know if it would help to tell you my protocols that got me mature eggs or not, but #1 was bcps for 3 weeks, long Lupron, then 11 days of stims with 150/150 bravelle and menopur, with 2 ovidrel triggers. #2 was 3 weeks of bcps, then 2 days of MD lupron, then stims added were bravelle 225/menopur150, 10 days. I know my RE says she likes bravelle better than others because she thinks it gives less eggs, but of better quality...

If you do end up with a BFN (you definitely still have a fighting chance here), are you for sure going for #3?

Oh no, i'm sorry you are getting bfn's. Just out of curiosity, how big are most of your follicles before your doc has you trigger? I wonder if he is not letting them get big enough and maybe having you trigger too soon? I know mine likes to get as many as possible to 17 mm. Your estrogen # should also be a good indicator of mature follicles too. I believe it's 200 for every mature follicle. Do your #'s add up?  I'm so sorry you are going through this! Maybe stimming longer is the answer, or maybe a second opinion from a different RE would help? GL!

I am surprised they are not doing a different protocol, such as antagonist.  I would seriously talk with RE about other methods, go with your gut!!!

I am so sorry you are going through all of this.

 

Also hoping that the HPT is wrong, and you get a nice surprise ((((hugs))))

Thanks everyone for your responses! My RE did mention stimming longer, but I'm wondering if I should be on the Lupron and BCP. I am going to put my two cents in when we have our follow up appointment.

Last time they waited till I had follies over 20mm which I had about 5 of. All the others were around 18mm. DH and I are looking into meeting with a different RE.

I had the same thing.  I had 16 retrieved and only 9 were mature.  My RE said we would stim me longer this time and at a lower dose. They started me out low and increased me last time.  So he doesn't think i will get the increase this time.  It's so scary considering I've got so much money into meds.  Good Luck!!
