Bed time routine for a 4 month old

Please tell me your routines.  We are having the hardest time getting on a schedule.  My little boy goes to day care so eating times vary.  I've been trying to get him to bed around 7, but it usually doesn't truly happen until 10:30 or 11.  What are you dong to keep your LO on schedule.  And in what order are you doing it in.  Do you bathe, feed, then read a story?  And what time do the usually go to bed.  Please help a girl out.  I feel so unfit sometimes as a mother.

PS, i lurk on and off here all the time.  So, that's why my comments are so sporadic.

at 6:30 we start with bath, book, bottle and bed and usually are done the whole routine at 7:15-7:30 and he's sleeping. I think it works so well because we've been consistant and done the same thing since about 3 months.

Right now bedtime is around 9ish.  We just do diaper change, pj's, nurse, then rock.  I will add a story soon. Every other night or so we do a bath.  I'm looking to move bed time early but he is not ready yet.

8pm bath with soap every other day too. 815 nurse. 845 cuddles and sometimes a book. 9pm bed. Sometimes he falls asleep right away, other times he takes 45 minutes or even an hour.

Up from a late evening nap by 6:30. Sometimes she wakes up on her own earlier, but I'll wake her for 'dinner' by 6:30. Then we do activities until bathtime at 8:30. I bathe her every nite, but only use soap every other. Then pj's, lotion, bottle. Sometimes we read her a book in the rocking xhair ( during bottle) sometimes we read her whatever we want from our phones.

In her crib by 9,9:15. Sttn.

Geez, all of your bedtime routines sound so pleasant!  Mine used to be until about 4 days ago.  We'd do a book, bath at 8 then bottle and rock to sleep by 9.  Now LO won't nap after 3pm, takes a bottle around 5, bath at 7....and now refuses to eat at all before bed.  He just screams because he's so tired.  He sleeps until about 3am now because of not eating before bed.  He was sttn.  I hope this is just a short phase!!

She takes naps in the evening but we don't bring her up till 9:30pm. Then we do diaper change, put on the sleep sack read two books (just added that). Then we turn off the lights and turn on the humidifier, then boob then bed. She's in by 10 and sleeps till about five most nights. Sttnthe other day but it was only the second time.

Keep in mind he needs about a 10-12 hour night of sleeping. So depending on what time everyone needs to be places in the morning, or if they stay at home, people's bedtimes for their babies may be different. Ours was much later when I was on maternity leave because we like to sleep in over here.

I get up at 6 every day with LO, so she is in bed by 8 now. We start at 7 after eating at 6 and playing. We do bath, massage, books, feed, bed.

It'll get better! Hang in there!

Thanks everyone!  I need all the help I can get!  My little one doesn't want to go to bed or nap anymore.  He's growing up on me I guess.  I'm going to try for 7 again tonight.  Bath, jammies, bottle & try to read while feeding him.  We'll see how it goes.  Most likely I won't get the book in.
