Weird taste question...

So I know PG can do all sort of crazy things to your body, and I'm sure this is one of them but I wanted to see this is happening to anyone else.  I have been pretty sick the last month, some days are better than others but on the bad days I am throwing up quite often.  It also seems that on the bad days I have a heightened sense of taste.  For example, I had a soft preztel the other day and I could literally taste the freezer on the pretzel, last night my DH brought me water and I could taste that it was tap water not Brita (I've never been able to tell the difference not PG). And today I had some of the those cracker chips from Special K and they just tasted like chemicals to me.  Has anyone else experienced this???

Only in that I can't really drink coffee anymore (even decaf) because I just do NOT enjoy the taste anymore...

Pregnancy has made me taste and smell in a whole different way, it's pretty common. Sometimes it's awesome, other it's really dumb.

I've really only noticed this with water.  I've actually had to send water back at a restaurant and order something different because the taste was so odd.  It is weird, but I think it's pretty normal.

Yes, I've had the weird taste thing with all three pregnancies. You are not alone. I've read that along with a heightened sense of smell, it's your body's way of protecting you from eating something bad that would hurt the baby. So....it's a good thing!

Hahaha I think this is totally normal!!! My taste, smell and touch senses have been totally heightened!!!!! Foods I have always liked now taste incredible, like ridiculously delicious lol!! I feel like I have the nose of a dog and can smell things way more than when I wasn't pregnant ( not always a good thing) and touch is pretty awesome too

I DEFINITELY know what you mean! Things that were normally good to me before are horrible now, and I can eat things now that I used to not like. It's really weird. Before I could eat pickles, now they are way too salty and have a weird taste and make me nauteous. Before I wouldn't think of drinking milk and now I can not get through a day without it. I can't drink water unless it comes from a bottle, and I have to switch brands every couple of weeks because it starts to taste weird. Very strange.

I have noticed with certain things at certain times it doesn't taste like it should.

I had a weird metallic taste in my mouth for most of my first trimester.

A few days before I had my BFP I served myself and my husband pickles with dinner. It was in the fridge for a little bit and the jar was almost gone. So I thought that is why when I bit into it it tasted like- lotion! Dh ate his and said it tasted just fine. Before I even told his aunt this story she was telling me about something she ate when she was pregnant and it tasted like body spray.

 And about smelling...the last 2-3 weeks I keep smelling a dog. In the air in the living room, in my mom's hospital room, on my blanket, in my car. I get just a whiff and then it's gone. We don't and haven't had a dog. Wasn't sure if this was pregnancy related or not but makes me feel crazy lol.
