I hear eating tuna or other fish with high mercury levels more than once a week can be bad for anyone's health. Not just those who are TTC. I eat lots of sushi once I get my period and try to limit the tuna fish sandwiches to just once a month. Once pregnant though, I heard raw fish is a no no and canned tuna is okay once a month.

Holy crap. Your doggy avatar is killing me. It is so freaking cute. Is that your dog??
Ha! No not my dog, but mine looks like that, only about 60lbs heavier I found that pic a long time ago and fell in love because it reminds me of my fur baby. I have a goldendoodle.
I like when DH eats "tuna". Sry. Couldn't help it.

It's okay in moderation but visit the EPA website to get a feel of the mercury content of fish and the recommended "safe" amount. Canned tuna will have less mercury than tuna steak.
This actually isn't a drink till it's pink type of scenario. It's like taking a PNV everyday scenario. Mercury builds in your blood over time and takes a long time to be eliminated.
I'll go easy on high mercury fish as long as I'm in my childbearing years.

Wow, I don't think anyone is mainlining tuna here. Unclench.

Someone said, "You're not even pregnant. Eat what you want." Well, it's more complicated than that.
That's all I'm saying.
I'm sorry you think I'm uptight for providing useful information for the OP and actually responding with a serious answer. Actually, no, I'm not that sorry.

Eat it if you want it. I ate tuna about once a week for a couple months when pregnant with DD (had a brief tuna salad craving) and she is just fine. Just stick to the chunk light and don't overdo it, as is true about anything!
Hell, even when you're pregnant most fish is fine in moderation.
This! Exactly!
I don't understand women who avoid certain foods/drinks/etc when TTC as even when you are KU, you can still eat things in moderation...I had lobster a few times when PG with my first DD and my dr. said it was completely fine as long as I don't eat it everyday (which I would have loved, but it is $$!)
