I only use pfs right now and have a very small stash. I still use sposies at night while I get my stash built up but that is all I use them for. Yesterday I did diaper laundry and was lazy and left it in the laundry basket on the couch with plans of folding it today. I had some errands to run today and was gone nearly all day and DS was home w MH all day. I come home and DS is in a sposie.
Me: UM, why is he in a sposie?
MH: We were out of clean diapers.
Me: I told you this morning they were in the basket on the couch.
MH: Yeah, but they weren't put away.
Seriously?? You can't pull a diaper out of the laundry basket that is exactly ten steps from his changing table??? Plus we have smaller pfs that can be trifolded that were put away next to his changing table. Anyone else have a helpless H when it comes to changing the cds? He loves the idea of CDs but when it comes to him, he's the one having problems committing to them. I think if I was to start using sposies more he'd probably have something to say about me wasting the money on the CDs. GRRRRRR!
Re: MH is helpless when it comes to CD
You have to kick the sposies to the curb! DH was the same way, kept using the excuse he couldn't figure out what prefold/fitted/insert went with what cover etc. So he would always grab from the overnight/going out sposies stack.
When DD was 4 months I ran out of all the sposies we had been gifted by our well meaning family and friends who didn't know we were going to CD. Lo and behold, DH figured out how to put a CD on our DD's butt, because he didn't have another option.
4 months later and he is a pro. and loves CD'ing he has even recommended it to a few of his guy friends and coworkers who's wives are expecting.
He doesn't mind using the pfs, he puts them on all the time. His problem wasn't the diaper, it was the fact that they weren't right there in front of him.
I'm only using sposies at night right now because I don't have a ON solution yet. I plan on ordering something better on the 1st so we wont have to use them at all anymore but the pfs leak like crazy ON and DS wakes up everytime he pees and he's a seriously heavy wetter. Anyhow, we are in the transition period but losing all the sposies is the goal.
My DH is very on board with CDing. Sometimes he gets confused because I have about 300 different types of inserts of varying fabric types, but he knows the basics and then some.
We made the joint decision to CD, and we take our parenting decisions pretty seriously. TBH I would be pretty ticked if after making the decision to CD he was being lazy and using sposies. And I say lazy because as you said, the basket of clean diapers was right there.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
Maybe you could throw a prefold at him (since the 10 steps seems to be too much for him ). You'll get the aggression out but it's super soft, squishy, fluffy love hitting him in the face instead. ...You know, unless you throw a pee soaked one!

Don't give me any ideas! lol The pee soaked pf in the face is tempting!
DH was like that until one time we took a trip and only bought 'sposies... they leaked like crazy and he could see them building up in MIL's trash... then he was all about the CDs...
Before that I took all of the 'sposies we had and put them up in DD's room (we change her downstairs) that way it was more work to get a 'sposie and he chose to use the cloth.
I think I'm just going to have to hide the sposies.... he'd never use them if he actually had to LOOK for them! lol
I kinda feel like he was making a point about me not putting the laundry away. He's usually very helpful but this just really pushed my buttons. It's not like he couldn't put it away himself he just thought I should've done it last night. I guess he thought if I was being lazy by leaving it there he was going to be lazy and use a sposie. His point is invalid because at 29 w pregnant I'm allowed to have lazy moments and he's supposed to pick up my slack... at least that's how I see it! lol
Um yeah, considering that you are expending energy 24 hours a day growing a human life, I think he can get his lazy bum to put the diapers away. You can tell him that ITK said that too. I've been known to call husbands who need to be told a thing or two.

I will keep that in mind! My latest catch phrase has become, "I'm busy creating life." It's kinda become a joke around here.
Right now our CD process is super simple since all I use is pfs w a snappi and cover. I have a feeling once I find an ON solution and start introducing pockets and AIOs he's going to be lost. I've been trying to get him to watch the CD101 vids on youtube but he's very resistant. I told him when I get rid of all the sposies and have other types he's going to be on his own so he better prepare!
