Beta-3 Integrin biopsy. Check.

Just had my 2nd endometrial biopsy of this incredible journey. This time to check for the beta-3 intergrin.

I must say that out of all the HSGs, procedures, retrievals, surgeries I've had. Endometrial biopsies for me are the worst, physically.

**squeamish warning**

I can handle it, but barely. I really have to do some deep breathing and hand wringing to get me through. It feels like someone is twisting a screw into your uterus for 45 secs to a minute. Seriously. It feels just like that.

**done squeaming**

So my home clinic packed it up and sent it off to the specialty lab. Hopefully I'll hear from CC.RM in the next few weeks about the results.

That sounds awful! There should be a mandatory issuance of mucle relaxers/pain killers/whiskey or a cocktail of all of those for these procedures we endure!! FX your results are good and you don't have to wait too long for them.

 

QOTD: So far the worst has been the HSG. I almost came off the table and slapped the nurse when she told me it was going to be a period like cramp. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm in the throes of my uterus exploding and my tubes spontaneously combusting. I'll let you know when I get to the "period like cramping". I don't know why it was so awful for me but I would demand some kind of drugs if I ever had to do it again. **If you're reading this and have never had a HSG, please don't let me scare you. It's not this bad for most people. Call me lucky.**

EEk, that sounds awful. I'm so glad that's over with for you. Makes me squirm reading it, and I've never even had that done!

As for awful IF procedures, my HSG was a piece of cake for some reason. So I assumed my first SHG would be the same. No. No, it wasn't. It hurt so much I wanted to punch the nurse squeezing the saline in. I swear on my life I am not exaggerating when I say I couldn't walk for about 10 minutes afterwords. I thought I was going to have to call the nurses back in to help me.

For non-IF procedures, I'd say the prep for a colonoscopy is the worst procedure I've ever had overall! Starving yourself for an entire day then drinking ungodly amounts of miralax mixed with yellow gatorade and dulcolax makes you so sick you need a seatbelt for your toilet. I shutter just thinking about it!

I feel your pain.. I've had 2 endometrial biopsies.  It hurts like a SOAB. I did take a valium before my last one and it helped somewhat.  It is by far my least favorite procedure.  I have heard that if you have one close to a cycle it can help in implantation.

I took 750mg of Tylenol before this one. Not sure if it helped. Placebo effect mainly.

The last time I had it done I did have a PG - but with our history I'm not sure if it made any difference or not.

Ugh, that sounds terrible!!!  So glad that you've got it done and over with -- hoping that you get great results and get them quickly.

QOTD:  HSG was definitely the worst for me.  Like DP, I got the "period like cramping" warning -- but, I've never had cramps that felt that terrible (and my tubes were wide open/clear).  The advil or motrin or whatever they had me take beforehand didn't seem to do a thing.  To add to the fun, I had ridiculous bleeding + passing of biggest clots ever (for me) through that night. (it all made giving myself my own PIO injections seem like a piece of cake in this crazy process)
