I know there's been a lot of talk about bottles lately, but I'm still confused.
My MIL asked me why I didn't have bottles on my registry. I realized it was an oversight and I needed to add some, so I went ahead (I have a breast pump, so why not bottles?)
The only bottles I have experience with are Dr. Brown's standard bottles from when I nannied. I added those and the accessories/extra parts to my registry, done.
Well, then I read something that said that breast fed babies do better with the wide/wide neck bottles because they more closely mimic mom (not sure how? cause they're big like boobs? lol) so I was like, ok I'm BFing, and I went and switched to all wide neck ones.
THEN I was looking at another website (lucieslist) and it said that a lot of breastfeeding moms like Playtex drop ins because you can pump into a breastmilk storage bag and then use that as the drop in also (though I thought you could only use the Playtex bags in the bottle and only the Medela bags with the pump, am I wrong? Are they interchangeable?)
And then I see that the breast pump comes with Medela bottles, but since I got it from a friend she didn't give me any parts that touch breast milk, including the bottles. So then I thought maybe I should buy Medela bottles and I can pump right into those.
So now I don't know what to do! Stick with Dr. Brown's, get the wide neck, switch to drop ins, or use Medela only? Or just get something simple (because my baby may not have need for Dr. Brown's). I'm getting overwhelmed by it.
Re: Bottles
This is a good idea! Just a question because I have zero brain cells today, did your storage bags have the 'lip' at the top, or did you just drape it over the top of the bottle and screw on the top?
