Do you leave it on longer than the 9 hours directed on the box? Our Dr said it's fine to leave it on longer, but I'm still a bit worried. We have to put it on her 2 hrs before school so she's good to go for the classroom, but that means we have to take it off before dinner and she's very difficult by bedtime.
Thanks for any input.
Re: Anyone's child on Daytrana?
Thanks Auntie, yes it's for her ADHD.
The doc said to try the patch to see if it would help with her poor appetite and anxious habits (nail picking, crying). We have seen improvements in both areas, so we have stuck with it over the Concerta.
We have no therapist, just a doc. When I asked, he said if the meds are working we don't need a therapist.
Right now we are taking it off at 7pm (13 hours of wear), start bedtime routine at 7:30. She's pretty bouncy and hard to direct by 8:30 pm. We just keep telling her to get back in bed and after a while threaten to take away privileges if she doesn't stay. Not sure what else to do. She is still awake, playing in bed, until after 10 most nights. Doc suggested Melatonin, but we saw no results with that. Then the doc recommended Risperidol, but after looking at the side effects, we decided not to use that.
