VBAC

VBAC 18 months after Csection?

I'm due with 2, about 18 months after my csection with 1. With my first, I was induced early and went for csection because the baby wasn't handling things well. It wasn't a problem with me at all. before becoming pregnant again, I asked my OB about a VBAC. She wasn't totally against it, but said probably not because I'm on blood thinners and it's easier to preplan.

I saw my MFM specialist on Tuesday. Without even asking him, he prompted me and asked if I wanted to deliver vaginally or if I wanted a RCS.

So now I'm contemplating asking my OB again. Anyone have any experience with a RCS this soon? What are the risks?

  • I'm planning to try and mine will be 18 months apart.  I have some reservations about the risks, but I'm pretty sure we are going to decide on a VBAC over a RCS

  • I attempted VBAC with my second, 18 months after my first was born.  My uterus ruptured.  Luckily, both my son and I ended up just fine.  The rupture was extremely painful and took several months to heal, but everything did completely heal.  My son was 10 lbs 3 oz, which obviously played a part.

Coribecca, glad that you and LO are ok! I would love to hear more about your birth story, out of curiosity for what a rupture situation is like in real life.....if you're up for sharing!

  • Me to. My second will be 18 months after my first which was a csection, and I am worried of rupture if I go for a VBAC.. I would love to know what happened with your birth and what led to the rupture.
