yesterday at DD's 6 month appointment, the doctor asked if she was saying things like bababa dadada, etc., and she's not yet. she talks alllll the time, just doesnt do those things yet. anyone else?
yeah, i figured it would probably be normal, but on her paperwork yesterday after the appointment, after a paragraph of all good things, at the bottom it said, "however, the child is not able to vocalize single consonants (dada, baba)" and the "however" part threw me off! i was like, "wait!!! does that mean she's behind???" i dunno, the wording just made it seem like she should have been doing this already. and to say "is not able" sort of upset me too. had they just thrown in a "yet" at the end, it probably would have made me feel better!

Gaw doctors have a way of making you feel so small sometimes eh! He/she probably just noted it to make sure they ask you again next appointment.

LO just says agooo and vowel sounds pretty much. I think I've heard her say "bah" a few times.
Just because your doc asks, doesn't mean it's something your baby needs to be doing now. Your doc is just trying to get an idea of where she is at.
