Sleepless Nights!

It's 4:40 a.m here and I just put LO in his swing. He's been awake since 11:30 p.m and has not slept since then. (might I add I have not slept since yesterday morning) It's been like this for 3 nights now! He also wants to be held the entire time and will not let me put him down for anything. I'm glad he accepted the swing for the first time tonight! Hopefully this time it'll put him to sleep so I can move him to his bassinet and I can get some much needed sleep!

How's everyone's night/morning going?

Re: Sleepless Nights!

  • I guess I can't complain since I got two three hour stretches of sleep last night. LO did projectile vomit her entire feeding on me at 4am though, that was no fun. I hope more sleep comes your way soon! Take a nap if you can. Can you put the swing where you can sleep while baby sleeps in it? Even our pedi said for now, do whatever it takes to get sleep. As long as baby is in a safe place, wherever baby will sleep that is safe, take it and sleep too. It made me feel better and less pressured to have my baby sleeping in only her crib. Is there somewhere it would be safe for you to hold him to sleep where you could sleep too maybe?

  • Same here except ours has cried for the past two days.  Her and room is tiny so a swing won't fit, so we bought a bouncy chair that vibrates, she loves it.  We found one at Target for 30.00.

Oh no, projectile vomiting.. that was LO 2 nights ago!

He eventually did fall asleep in his swing and I ended up moving him to his bassinet. I definitely slept when he slept! But that advice was good! Thank you!

  • I feel your pain. LO only really likes his swing to sleep in or on me which is what we were doing before I got the swing last week. I can put him in the crib or bassinet over and over again, but he will just wake up within 5 min and start crying.

Swings are such a life saver!
