Dust jackets on childrens' books

What do you guys do with the dust jackets on children's books: do you try to keep them on, do you save them elsewhere or just toss them?

Ours seems to get in the way and just get taken off and trampled when L "reads" her books, but I am just having a hard time letting go of them because of book aesthetics.  But, I don't need any extra clutter and I realize that these books won't survive to be anything other than worn mementos.

  • I leave them on until they get ruined and they get thrown.

  • They drive me nuts because they slip off and end up all over. I took them all off and made a pile of them. They are currently stored in a cupboard.

  • I was saving them but I got tired of the clutter and threw them out.

I'm saving mine...but I'm pretty sure I will do this too.

  • Toss them. Barbie Rapunzel and The Princess and the Motorcycle Dude aren't exactly irreplaceable first edition classics lol. What is the point of the dust jacket on random books anyway? It's like covering couch arms. The couch looks beat to hell but thank god the arms still look good!
