Nurseries and Baby Gear

Recommend a few nursery items

Hi I am looking to buy a crib quiltmaybe a rag quilt and crib skirt as well as a baby book I was thinking of using etsy but wanted some recommendations. My nursery theme is kind of shabby chic. Light green walls, white furniture and pink accents. I also could use some ideas on where to pick up black out curtains and a closet organizer for a small closet. Any other suggestions would be awesome..

  • Why do you want a crib quilt? They're pretty much worthless. I'd invest that money in a nice baby blanket you can use later on, or even a nice swaddled like a Woombie or 10. (Seriously we LOVED our woombies and had 3 that we rotated between so we always had a clean one)

Etsy is probably the best place to find a nice crib skirt if you're not interested in making your own. They're incredible easy to make!

We bought out black out curtains at Walmart and they're great and look good.. I'm extremely glad that we didn't spend a lot on curtains.

Target has some great closet organizers.

We bought out baby book from BRU, and it does the job *shrug*

  • The quilt will be used as a blanket to play on in the early years and as toddler bedding as she gets old and we convert the crib. I have lots of swaddled/ wraps from dd1.

Good tip about the curtains mainly they need to block the light I didn't buy this for dd1 room and she struggles to nap when it's sunny.

  • Pottery Barn Kids has nice, high quality quilts.... a few styles might be described as shabby chic. Target also used to have a shabby chic baby bedding line, not sure if they still do.
