Late introduction

Hi all. I posted a bit before my daughter was born but never really introduced myself. Thought I'd do that now, if you'll have me.

Daphne was born December 11 at 9:15 pm. Her birth was a nightmare. She passed and aspirated meconium in utero, stopped breathing moments after birth, two days later ended up on a heart lung bypass, ECMO. We were very close to losing her. She made it and recovered quite quickly, considering, but we did spend 4 weeks exactly in the NICU. We were discharged early last week, and since then we've been finally getting used to having her home. Weird to do that with a month delay. We also have some extra stress around feeding her, because she didn't gain along the curve while hospitalized; we have catch up to do. Finding myself with lots of questions, despite the fact that I'm not a FTM, and often with the need to vent a bit...so hope you don't mind if I join you!

Congratulations! My DD is Daphne also, and was born on 12/5. I had a very rough delivery she was sunny side up with a head tilt and then her shoulders got stuck. Lucky for us there was a ton of awesome staff there to get her out. She had some distressed breathing which was regulated quickly, but she also had some injury to her right arm and shoulder. We were lucky yet again and it all healed within a month.ayne it's something with the name? ;
