Babies: 6 - 9 Months

freezer section vegetables

My daughter is 8 months old and eating pureed food if i don't have fresh vegetables on hand can i steam my mixed vegetables from my freezer and puree/ feed to her?

    Yup! Frozen is as close to fresh as you get. Actually sometimes it's even better, if the produce was frozen close to when it was picked it retains its nutrients better than fresh items that have been sitting on the shelf for who knows how long.

    This. Plus it is really convenient.  I did this with peas...I was not going to shell peas.

  • Thanks i wasnt sure..we didnt start feeding her baby food till 6 months im using up all the jarred food from my baby shower but all i have left are fruits. I keep frozen mixed peas and carrots on hand for chicken fried rice she loved them. It should make for a very interesting diaper later lol. ;

  • I do that a lot, especially for things that aren't in season.  However, I have found you need to read the ingredients on the bags because I've found some with added salt.
