Crib Transition?

Jackson will be 2 months on Friday, I want to start with naps in his crib and completely convert him to his room by time I go back to work next month. He will be 3 months. When did you start the transition? Any best tips?

B started sleeping in his crib around 2 months old.  I started off putting him in his crib while I was doing things in his room or if I needed to do something quick like vaccum or change over laundry etc. so he got used to just being in there.  Then I did naps in there for a few days and then we started nights in there.  He was actually very easy to transition to the crib.  A couple things that really helped was swaddling and white noise.  We also tried to get him on some kind of rough routine so he understood that being in there meant bed time.  Good Luck!!

We went from the RnP to the PnP in our room and then had to go straight to the crib because I wasn't getting any sleep. Between her and DH there was too much noise. So around 2 1/2 months we transitioned. I slept in her room for a few nights till she got used to it. White noise and a swaddle helped. She was doing great but has regressed a little the last few nights. Good luck!

My DS is only 3 weeks so he's obviously still with us but I have started to put him in his crib for naps just so he's used to it and also because he sleeps in a RNP at night so I think its a good idea for him to lay flat once in awhile. He hates laying flat so he's never slept in the PNP in our room, we basically just use the changing area on it. He takes shorter naps in his crib but I think over time it will be good for it to become familiar. We will probably start the transition around 3 months.

We started crib naps around 3.5 months and night times in the crib at 4 months.  Until then she was in the bassinet attachment of the PNP in our room.  The way our house is set up, her room is on a different floor from ours so we did not feel comfortable having her that far away from us at night until 4 months.

Thank you Ladies. I've done the laying in the crib to do a few things and I've noticed he's liked it. He entertains himself in the crib. Not sure If it's his colored walls or bedding. We will start naps this week.

I did a total transition at 2 months.  I just put him in his crib one night and never looked back.  He ended up sleeping better at night and for naps!
