Do any of your offspring throw a hissy when you take the bottle away to burp them?! B had started this God awful shreiky thing every time I remove the bottle. Could this mean that he isnt ready to burp or is it just a baby thing?

Alice does this.  I just put it back in her mouth and don't burp her till the end of the bottle.  She hasn't had any gas troubles from it.  I guess her stomach is just tolerating more milk.

My daughter gets a bottle of breast milk every night, I found it helps her sleep better then just nursing, and the same thing she freaks out when its taken away!  I end up giving it back to her without a burp and I swear an oz later she is fine I can burp her and she goes back eating.  Its weird though cause the amount she has already ate does not matter its the first time we stop.

Its a baby thing - DD "cries" EVERY time she finishes her bottles...she gets in a rhythm of sucking and doesnt like for it to be over.  As soon as we burp her, she is back to normal as if the brief meltdown never happened.   She only does this with bottles though, never after breastfeeding...
