WDYT of Clay?

I've always liked it but never thought I'd use it. Now it's growing on me more and more.

Idk.. I think I like it better as NN to Clayton. It just seems really short to me, plus on its own I just think of a clump of clay.

I like it. Short, simple, strong. Could be considered a nature name, too. (And is much preferable to "Dirt"!)

I think of 2 different Clays I know. One is my cousin and the other is Clay Matthews...both of long stringy hair. NMS

I love it. Actually, it was on our short-list for DS, but didn't quite make it to the top spot.

FWIW, I live in the South where it's not an unusual name, which may influence my opinion of it.

Maybe Clayton? Clay isn't terrible but I work with clay as an art medium so that is the first thing that pops into my head.
