I don't love any boy names. But I have a feeling that this LO is a boy.
One name that's growing on me is Hugo. The problem is our last name. Without typing it out, it begins with H and sounds like Tompkins (think the actor in Silence of the Lambs). I also like Hugh, but that sounds even worse.
Thoughts? I hate to add anything to my (very short) list if it's doomed from the start.
Re: Hugo
First off, Hugo is absolutely one of my FAVORITE boy names!! I love it SO much. But, like you, I have a last name issue: My last name is very similar to Krug, so I feel like it's too rhyme-y. People would say "Hugo Krugo". Not cute.
Yeah, for an uncommon name letter like H, I don't think an alliterative name works. If it was two M's or two S's or something, I think you could get away with it, but with a "weird" letter like H, I think it will sound kind of silly. I'm sorry!
What names do you like for girls? Maybe we could give some suggestions?
My top girls' names at the moment are: Oona, Nella, Galilea, Matilda, Euphemia, Louisa, Susanna, and Luna.
For boys, I like Asa, Arthur, Julian, and Walter. I also like Sam, Ned, and Gus, but am not 100% sold on Samuel, Edward/Edmund, or August. I'd like something a bit more adventurous (we are also considering using a science-inspired name like Tycho or Kepler).

Hope that helps!!

HUGO IS ONE OF THE BEST BOY NAMES EVER!!
I really like Hugo (in case you couldn't tell).
Not a fan of Hugo.
Suggestions: Caleb, Jacob, Luke, Rob, Paul, Nathan, Ethan, Braden, Samuel
I love Hugo. It would be at the top of my list, but good friends from college named their son that 3 years ago so it's off limits to me as far as I'm concerned.
Also, I don't see any problem with alliterative names. I think they're catchy.
PS. I am also having issues with a boy's name. It's really challenging finding the right one.
Sorry... too much alliteration for my taste.
Plus, with Hugo Chavez in the news so much lately, I'd probably shy away from it for that reason, too.
Hugo is a great name and I think it sounds find with your last name. The different vowels after the H make it sound not so matchy.
