Babies and funerals

Tomorrow it is going to be snowy and rainy when we bury DH's grandmother, with a high of 39. Should I bundle LO up and hold him under an umbrella, stay in the car with him when we get to the cemetery and not be able to be there for DH or something else?

Re: Babies and funerals

  • When we went to DH's grandfather's funeral the week of Thanksgiving we went in the funeral home for the service and then stayed in the car for the graveside portion. It was freezing so the graveside portion was only like 5 minutes so I didn't feel like I missed much and I was there for my husband during the inside service..people understand when there is a baby. I was basically told to stay in the car!

  • I think it depends on your situation.  If possible, I would probably get a sitter so I could be there for DH...if one isn't available I'd probably stay in the car.  By sitter I mean family member, so you aren't stressed about it.
