Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Schedule for 7-8 month old?

My first baby, DS, was a terrible night time sleeper, however he always napped. DD is not a napper. This is so new for me. In the last couple of weeks, she threw her schedule right out the window. She was napping, 9am, 12-1, and 4. She dropped her third nap and then everything went nuts. She naps at 10ish now and then I try all afternoon to get her to take another nap.

What do your schedules look like?

That age was the hardest for us too when it came to naps and the afternoon nap is STILL a struggle for us but he does it. I always watch for signs of being tired and then he goes right to his room for a nap.

I try to line up nap time with a bottle because that usually helps otherwise I take him to his room where it's dark, turn his fan on, rock him for a few minutes then in his crib he goes. In the beginning, our rule was that he stayed there for 1 hour, regardless of it he's sleeping or not. Most of the time he sleeps but if he woke up before the hour was over, he stayed in his crib. Now naps are a bit more consistent and I think it's because he just knows that it's nap time so I better just sleep!

That age was really tough for naps for some reason!

oh ok, glad I'm not alone. DD used to be fine, but suddenly it's tough to get her down!

    He sleeps from about 8:30pm-7:30am.

Nap around 10am then another nap around 2pm.

    this is us too..
  • Sleeps from 7:30 To 6:30
    Naps 10 for an hour
    Naps 1 for an hour
  • She wakes up around 7:30 am, takes a nap from 10:00-10:30. Then another nap around 2:00pm-3:00pm. Then bed around 7:00pm. Sometimes she will take a third nap if her other naps happen earlier in the day.
  • It amazes me that some of you babies can stay awake that long before the end of the afternoon nap and bedtime. Unless we are out DS can last about three hours between the last nap and bedtime before he turns into a crab.
