SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!

I love my dogs, I really do, but all they do all day is bark! There is always someone barking or crying at me. UGH! I feel bad because just a few days ago DH told me to just get out of the house and go shopping and I was gone for 4 hours.... but that was on Friday and I already want another break. I wish there was some sort of a mommy weekend. Or I wouldn't feel guilty randomly boarding my dogs for 3 days to get a break... they love it there and my vet bathes them before sending them home which is awesome.... but 3 days for the two of them will be like $80.

Why do you feel bad?  You should be able to get a break when you want/need it, as long as your H is home.  When my H is home at night, we tag team all night so I get breaks whenever I want them.  You need it for your sanity!

Hes on his 9th day straight of work though. Even on the weekends he never gets a break, hes either working his regular job (which have been 12 hour shifts lately, 3am to 3pm in a high stress environment) or helping me take care of LO.I'm sure he needs a daddy break and I keep trying to give him one and I just can't keep up well enough to do it.

  • Definitely agree with PP. It shouldn't matter when your last mommy break was. If you need another one I think you should get one.

As for your dogs, think of it as they are getting a break from you and LO lol. They're happy and getting a spa day at the vets so don't worry about it.

Yeah, I understand. My H works two jobs five days a week. I know it's tough, but it isn't fair for you to have all of the responsibilities at home and with the baby most of the time.   Know what I mean? I work full time too, and since H is working so much, I'm with the baby most of the time and taking care of things at home and dogs and cooking dinner at night and it just gets exhausted.  I know he's tired, but so am I, and you better believe he gets up both days on the weekends with her and lets this tired mama sleep a little bit.    It's all about working together to make sure the other one isn't burned out.

  • Do it. $80 well spent in my eyes. But, then again, I'm definitely not a dog person. At all.

  • Does any place offer doggy day care? We have a few places in our area that do boarding and grooming, and also offer day care. Something worth checking in to for your sanity. If not, I say the $80 is well worth giving your self a break!
