What cycle are you in and where are you at in your cycle?
Do you have a question, brag or vent to share with the group this week?
QOTW: Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Re: TTC Tuesday Check-In for 1/15/13
Question when do I start OpKs? I've never used them before so in kind of a TTC dummy
Qotw: dog person hands down. I love my little Coton!
Cycle 3 CD12
Vent: We have all been sick for a couple of weeks now. We all went to the doctor and were told that it is just a virus and nothing they can do. It really sucks and I am afraid its going to impede our chance this month because there is nothing less attractive than hacking and coughing while trying sexy time.
QOTW: Dog person 100% Our little Abby was a rescue and is the best dog. Oliver's first word was actually Ahhh-dee.
Whoops! Forgot to reply to my own check-in!
What cycle are you in and where are you at in your cycle? 19 months, 8 cycles charting,CD 26, 7 DPO. We missed my fertile window by almost a week though, so at least I can relax this month and not worry about the 2WW.
Do you have a question, brag or vent to share with the group this week? I was bad this month. I missed a lot of temping days, started my OPKs too late and just haven't put much effort into trying. I'm just kind of over the whole thing right now. I really need to adjust my attitude and get re-committed next cycle, but right now I am just burnt out.
QOTW: Are you a cat person or a dog person? For years I insisted I couldn't possibly choose one over the other because I do love both, but I think more recently I've realized I really am more of a dog person. I love how they can be involved in so many of the family's activities, and I think by having them be such a big part of our lifestyle, you eventually feel closer to them than maybe you can feel to a cat. (Please don't tell my cat that though!!!) BUT dogs are a huge, huge commitment, so they're definitely not for everyone or every life stage. The package they come in usually has directions, but I think mine say to start four or five days before you think you usually O. (If you have a 28-day cycle and suspect you O on CD14, you'd start OPK-ing around CD 10).
Better to start too early than too late though. My cycles have been long, so I wasn't starting until CD 20 or later, and this cycle I O'd early for me and missed it.
What cycle are you in and where are you at in your cycle?
Still in first cycle. I do not know where in the cycle. Honestly I do not even know how to figure this out. DH though wanted to try and be more stress free this time around so I am not going to try charting yet. I find it funny that DH thinks this can be stress free. I am already stressing.
Do you have a question, brag or vent to share with the group this week?
I am really dragging my feet this cycle. I think I ovulate this week but I have not told DH or made no effort with him. I really do not want an Oct baby. I realize the chances of this are totally slim on a first cycle but I am a teacher and I really really want to start the school year with my students. I know i should not let this control me, but i am. Anytime Nov on I am good so I am dragging my feet this month. What cycle are you in and where are you at in your cycle? Cycle 6, CD 5(not too upset about it this month due to me having the flu during my 2ww). I started charting again this cycle and will start using OPKs on Monday.
Do you have a question, brag or vent to share with the group this week? We are attempting potty training. I had no idea how hard it was going to be. I am also not sure if he is completely ready but I feel some pressure from our day care provider on making sure I don't miss the right time. Like I said though, I am not sure if now is the right time. If anything we are getting a good introduction now. Last night we took the front piece off A's crib and put up a bed rail. We thought he would get up in the morning and come into our room but he actually stayed on his bed. I think he thought he couldn't get out. I am sure he will figure it out eventually but we had a good first night.
QOTW: Are you a cat person or a dog person? I would say both. When I was little we never had a cat because my mom is allergic. We rescued a cat a year before we got married and she is my little girl. We also have a German Shepard. DH always wanted a GS so right after we got married, we got one. She is a big baby but has a mean bark if she doesn't know you. She is so good with A though. Almost like his 2nd mother.
Do you have a question, brag or vent to share with the group this week? I've got to go back and look at the older thread, I think AF came when I was only on about CD24-25. My cycles were very regular before, but since my m/c I've now had about 3-4 cycles that are a week short. And of course I haven't been temping or anything because, well, I was pretty darn regular before this. Any thoughts?
eta - I went back and checked - my CD1 this cycle would have only been CD26 if AF hadn't shown.
QOTW: Are you a cat person or a dog person? I'm a pets-at-someone-else's-house person. I didn't grow up with pets, so while I like cats and dogs, I shudder a little bit at the inescapable responsibility they bring. I've seen several houses where I think the dog/cat ends up relegated to the garage or the outside and is resented after human kids enter the picture. DH grew up with pets and really wants a dog, so I think we will eventually get one, but not until B is older.BFP #2 5/27/12. EDD 2/1/13. m/c and D&C 6/21/12.
Perhaps last TTA cycle. CD 20.
Do you have a question, brag or vent to share with the group this week?
I'm having doubts. I'm not sure I can justify trying to have another baby as an "elderly" diabetic. I'm feeling kinda down.
QOTW: Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Definitely cat! We always had a dog growing up. I loved them and thought I was a dog person. When I was a newlywed we hung out with some friends who had an awesome cat. Next thing you know we adopted my first cat and I've never looked back.
@Cheekers - Aww, hugs! I think I understand. I've been kind of psyching myself out lately, like can I really do this with two kids, I can barely handle one and I'm exhausted and burnt out all the time! Plus the GD is a bummer...although, I dunno, I think it will be easier the second time around since we know what to do, ya know?
@kj - You are so right about the responsibility. It is a lot. You are smart to wait until you're sure you can handle it, because pets do have a big impact on your lifestyle especially when you have a little kid too.
Ugh. Maybe I didn't share this on here. I found out about 6 months ago that I am one of the ever so lucky few whose GD didn't go away after pregnancy. As if I didn't have enough health problems with my terrible psoriasis. Major pity party for me.
Anyway, it's still not well controlled although I'm really working on it. Lots of exercise and I've lost a significant amount of weight. Still have more to go, though. I'm just feeling like a sick old bag today. Lol. Tomorrow is another day and I'll get over myself.
Thanks lady. I probably didn't post. Most days I try and pretend it doesn't exist. That's healthy, eh? But, yeah, I'm trying to be as healthy as I can be.
This is the big reason why I'm meeting with an OB next week. I have a good idea of what being pregnant with type 2 (and most likely insulin dependent)is like, but I need to have the discussion with a professional. I have such a hard time even having to have an OB instead of a MW not to mention tons of extra monitoring, etc. There's a limit to what I'm willing to accept and I don't know if it will work out. I'll be sure to update after my appointment.
Vent this week. J and I stayed at my parent's house Saturday because we had a baby shower to go to Sunday in my home town. My mom smokes in the house, but will go outside while w are there. Their house still stinks. I feel like crap and my throat hurts and I know it is from staying with them. And it poured rain the whole 2 hour drive back. It was horrible. Sorry that got long.
I'm a dog person. I have a cavalier king charles spaniel named Kallie.
