I was curious if anyone still exercises while having placenta previa. Before I found out I was occasionally jogging (I am a runner) and doing light spin. However, I have had more weight gain than my doctor nor I like (16 lbs in 3.5 months; no morning sickness) and I would like to basically even out the weight gain for a health pregnancy. I am hoping to begin a prenatal yoga class this week, however it only meets once a week. I know I can walk, but with weather and cold setting in before dark, walking is not my best option. Does anyone use a good workout dvd? I was extremely active before pregnancy doing CrossFit, TRX, spin, kickboxing, and weight lifting, so being inactive makes me feel very uncomfortable. My doctor said I can exercise to a low intensity. I'm basically looking for a simple at home routine. Any suggestions?
Re: Exercising with placenta previa
I know this is a late response, but I've been there, done that. I had placenta previa DX at 16 weeks. Doctor said low intensity workouts and pelvic rest. I walked a lot (like 5 miles a day). I also did the elliptical and swam. I, too, was a runner before getting pregnant (triathlete).
Also, my placenta previa moved by the time of my anatomy scan and I was cleared to do whatever workouts I wanted.
