I've done 3 days of stims and just got the call with the results from my first monitoring appointment this morning. I have 9 follicles (up one from the 8 they saw at baseline!) with the largest being 12.1mm. There are 2 others that are above 10mm with the rest being between 9.6-5.2. E2 was 128.
The nurse said to up the follistim to 375 from 300 (that seems like a lot!) and leave the menopur at 150. I go back in on Thursday for monitoring.
I'm glad the follies are growing and that I'm not totally screwing this up, but was surprised by the increase in meds. Does it sound like I'm responding too slowly? I'm seriously going to worry about something different after each appointment. ![]()
Re: 1st IVF Monitoring appointment today!
Hi! The link to my IF blog is in my siggy if you want to see every medication by day. I can't remember details, but I started at 75 IU of follistim and then was bumped up to 112 and then a couple days later to 225 IU. So it is normal to adjust your medication.
GL!

Is this your first IVF cycle? If so, it's especially common to have your meds bumped up as you go along. The RE would rather raise it then start too high and overstimulate.
My first cycle, I started at 150 Follistim, then was bumped up to 200 and 300, before she coasted me down off it. I started at 2 vials menopur, then went to 3 and then 4.
For my second IVF, she started me higher (225 and 3 vials) and that dose worked well for the entire cycle. But it took the experimentation with the first cycle to determine my optimal dose.
