Just wondering how long your LO's are sleeping? Mine is 5 weeks old and usually only sleeping 2-3 hours before waking. What am I doing wrong? I see where some are sleeping 5-7 hour stretchs? I've tried later bedtimes, earlier bedtime, dream feed, rice in the bottle, nothing is working. DD was STTN at 6 weeks from about 11-7. Needing advice and sleep!
Re: How long are LO's sleeping?
My LO is 5 weeks and usually sleeps in 3-4 hour stretches but I have gotten a few 5 hour stretches.
Some of the 5 hour stretches included LO being awake for about 4 hours prior to bed time. Another time while we were bed sharing we had a 6 hr stretch.
I hope you get your 5-6 hour stretch soon! Although you might feel like no amount of sleep will repair what you've lost! haha GL!
Like an hour, tops. Although occasionally he treats me and I get TWO hours! Lol. 3 week growth spurt, hooray!
If we try putting her down, she wakes up within 10 minutes.
I agree that babies are different. During the third week, DD was sleeping 5 hour stretches at night and then would wake up for a bit to eat and then go back to sleep for 3 hours, but then she wouldn't sleep much during the day except for maybe an half hour or hour at a time. I was thrilled because I was so rested.
Now she sleeps for short periods of time at night or during the day where I can get no rest. There are many times where she falls asleep in my arms and then I go to put her in her bassinet and she wakes up within a few minutes. It is very trying some days.
I never know what each day is going to bring, so I try to handle it as best as I can and know that with her constantly changing and growing, it's a little much to expect a schedule.

Every child is different. Personally I'd stop trying to do different things and just follow your baby. There's a reason they are waking up. They're just a baby.
And if your pediatrician didn't tell you to put rice in the bottle for reflux issues, sorry but I'm judging. Are you going to try whiskey next?
DD is 4 weeks and this is almost exactly our current situation.
Wow comparing whisky with rice cereal.I bet your baby will starve till the textbooks say rice cereal is ok.
We use the swaddle me w/velcro.It's like a baby straitjacket!

We're doing a mix of BF and FF and have discovered that formula keeps her content longer. We have been giving her a formula bottle at her last feeding and it seems to help. And before we're flamed for using formula to get more sleep, our pedi told us that we needed to supplement.
