Getting 2nd opinion

I called to set up an appt for a second opinion.  Obviously they said they wanted my records from my other RE.  Soo I called them and feel soo bad because of course my favorite nurse answered.  I felt like I was breaking up with them haha!  I just don't know what to do anymore.  I told her that we have done 5 rounds of IUI soo I was considering saving up money and just doing IVF.  It is crazy that she is soo not pushy on the effort and said but yes that is alot of money for just one round.  Soo I totally agree and if I knew that IUI would work again for us I would do it!  Soo incredibly lost!  I don't know if I should maybe do another round of IUI, the doctor was going to start the 3 rounds rule over because I got pregnant on my second IUI but had a miscarriage.  Soo he was starting over with last month being round 1 again.  Would you do 2 more rounds of IUI or just go straight to IVF... My doctor has not pushed IVF at all.  What would you do?  Thanks ladies !

I don't think that a second opinion would hurt.  I actually have one set up for next week too.  If you contact your new clinic, you can sign a release and they can get your records for you.  I did this but I also called and let them know what I was doing.  It does feel like you are breaking up with someone because you spend so much time on the phone with the nurse and in their office.  GL at you appointment!

I am currently on IUI 7.  We got pregnant on our 4th but miscarried.  We know that the IUI process can work for us and after having my septum removed we agreed to do three more before trying something different.  I have to say that after two more IUI's I was already ready to move on to something different.  Since we are on a time crunch with a vacation, we decided to do one more but upped my dose of clomid to 100mg.  If this doesn't work for us, I think that I would be willing to do two more IUI's with injects before moving on.  I don't think that I could emotionally handle three but two will give us a better idea of how I respond it injects.

Getting another opinion from another RE will just help to lay things out for you.  The more info you have, the more informed choice you can make moving forward.  Good luck!

That's hard.  I might just split the difference and just do one more IUI, then move on to IVF.  Or get a second opinion and see what they say.   I don't know that it's right of your current RE to "restart" the clock but admittedly since you did get PG from the treatment once I'd want to probably give it one more go.

You did have success with IUI so I would probably do atleast one more round, but if you don't feel confident then a 2nd opinion is worth it- Good luck in whatever you choose to do!
