I'm not on board with Charles Darwin (mostly because I want a family name from my side in the middle spot and this name would not leave room to honor my family or my heritage).
Also Lily, which is sweet, but not substantial enough for my taste. I would consider it as a nn.
So far I've vetoed Alexis (makes me think of a stripper) and Sean (too boring).
I've also kind of vetoed Jackson, which I was surprised to find DH loves. It's not that I don't love the name, it's just so popular that I really don't think I want to use it.
I basically vetoed every single one of DH's suggestions. He also is not a very serious person, so he would only suggest the craziest names from his warhammer books (kind of a nerdy guy). But we did pick out both the girl name and the boy name quite easily.
DH loves Reagan for a girl but I vetoed it because DS is Carter. I feel like it's too much of a presidential theme! (Joke with him that our 3rd kid would have to be named Bush!) He also likes Makenna and I said no because it just doesn't seem like it grows to me.
DH really wants Jack, which I like too, but it's way to common to pair with our common last name, so I vetoed. And now my cousin just named her baby that, so double veto.
Last time we talked, he really like Rhett, which I vetoed right away because I just don't like it.
There have been several others mentioned in passing, but nothing he's pushed for.
FKA mimi4347: diaper rash magician and unofficial expert on excrement
This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
I have vetoed some but can't remember them. I do most of the suggesting!
DH wanted Candace, Crystal, or Amber. He likes the 80s. Apparently when I told him we needed another older name to go with Sylvia, he started looking at 80s names lists! Haha not what I was going for!

I think there have only been a couple names I have veteod. Tenae and Hailey. Tenae is just nms and Hailey is way too common for me. I think we have mostly agreed on boy names.
Mama to 3 Beautiful babes ages 1, 3 and 5. ttc #4.
Finley Belle, Ezra Bennett and Josephine Pearl.
None. DH hates the baby name conversation. He suggested DS's name (Connor) and I was so shocked that he actually loved a name that I went with it!

No more TTC for us. We are done, and at peace, as a family of 4.
"Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but – I hope – into a better shape.” — Charles Dickens
We only discussed boy names (DH would not discuss names until we knew the baby's sex), and I veteod the only two names he suggested: Tyler and Colby. I know a horrible person named Tyler and Colby is just not my style.
Girl: Ottilia, Ilsa, Annalise, Adelheida, Vivian....which is funny because her middle name ended up being Vivian.
Boy: Conrad, Rudiger, Wilmer, Ekhart
This list could go on and on. His list was a doozy. I actually wrote all of the names in the baby book so if she err complains about her name, I can show her the other options her father had. Ha!
Magnus. DH loves this name but he's also a big World's Strongest Man fan and this name seems to be popular for the contestants. It's a perfectly fine name but I think more if you're Swedish. I think Will Ferrell's son is named Magnus.
Oh, and the middle name he pairs with it? Biff. Yeah, the guy from Back to the Future. Terrible!
We've had a first name since before she was born, so my vetoes were for middle names. Dd is Margaret. Dh really liked Frances, which I don't mind but I think Margaret Frances is way too heavy and serious together. And Mae because I'm a music nerd and just couldn't name my daughter after a song I don't even like. (Maggie Mae.). I have offered to use Frances as a middle name for a future baby, as long as we pick a lighter first name.
for ds I vetoed John. It was just too boring for me.
I vetoed Lily because with DD #1 already being Delilah I felt there were too many L's.
And I vetoed Sierra Nevada and Sam Adam since he made the suggestions based off of beers.
There have been many more ridiculous ones that he likes to come up with just to try and annoy me, but when it actually matters he will give me his serious opinions too so I try not to let it get to me too much.
I didn't veto any first names, since I did all of the suggesting and he did all of the vetoing. If I had my way, DD would be Hannah or Clara, but he vetoed both of those. Once we agreed on Kate as a first name, I did veto Elizabeth as the mn, because her initials would have been KEG, which was a dealbreaker for me.
Cautiously expecting our second little petri dish baby - stick, Baby, stick!
Girl: Mandy- not only is it a nickname to me, his parents have a dog who is still living that dh named Mandy. And pretty much every name that was popular in the late 80s Stephanie, Ashley, Britney ect.
Boy: Atlas still don't know why he liked it. We actually mostly agree on boys names we both like older ones. Bruce (ds1) has always been his favorite name, it took me along time to get used to it but now I think it's perfect for him.
DH and I have a freakishly easy time picking baby names. I didn't veto any of his choices because I came up with all the suggestions and he either agreed or narrowed down his favorites out of those picks. It worked out well because he knew I wouldn't consider any names that I didn't like - and our tastes happened to merge since we love the same names.
He did veto Caitlynn though, which was a top contender for me if DS1 had been a girl (it's very similar to my MIL's first and middle name).
DS1 - 9;
DS2 - 6;
Angel - May 10, 2011;
Baby Girl - Due May 19, 2013

We vetoed Richard (nickname sounds TERRIBLE with our last name: *** BUT!)
Hubby vetoed Delilah (radio personality reference), and currently he's anti- Adelaide.... he thinks it's a fake name
Our lil' diva: late like her Momma: 40 weeks 5 days!
DH really wants Jack, which I like too, but it's way to common to pair with our common last name, so I vetoed. And now my cousin just named her baby that, so double veto.

He hasn't suggested much, so I feel bad vetoing two of his names, but I just can't.
I vetoed Gunner and Maverick.
Anxiously awaiting baby #1! Baby BOY Due: May 30, 2013!

I have done all the suggesting, so I haven't vetoed any. DH has done plenty of vetoing of my ideas though (womp, womp).
I did proactively veto some, though - anything Aiden, Brayden, Kaden, Hayden, etc., and anything in the top 10.

Boys: I vetoed Caleb and Jacob. The others were legit contenders.
Girls: I vetoed Emma, Olivia, and Lillybelle (??!!??). Names he suggested that I didn't veto that he suggested were Katherine, Grace, and Carys.
None. DH hates the baby name conversation. He suggested DS's name (Connor) and I was so shocked that he actually loved a name that I went with it!

Stephanie - too 80's
