I think mandie's intentions with this post were sincere. I don't think me meant to case a war, but honestly you should have known better mandie. You obviously knew this was touchy before posting it. You know what the pros and cons are without having to ask anyone. If you really can't figure out what a pro or con might be Google pros and cons of sahms. Or pros and cons of working moms. I know you didn't mean for all this to get so blown of of proportion but really it's kind of a duuuuuh that it did. You know how touchy a subject this has been and always will be. You've seen how others have been treated when they post threads about sahm vs working moms. Think it through a little more next time before you post.

I'm a WAHM mom and it has its pros and cons. Pros are that I can work on my own schedule, I can be home with LO, and I actually get more work done at home than I did in the office (chatty coworkers). Cons are that I spend most of LO's naptime working instead of doing other things, and that if I don't get enough work done that week I have to make it up later.
DH and I had always planned on me being a SAHM but the WAHM thing was a stroke of luck. I don't make enough money to make a real difference in our finances, but it's a nice buffer in our budget. If I were teaching, I would be making a significant difference in our budget, but we traded that extra income for the choice to SAHM.
IMO, if you're staying at home and feeling like you maybe want to work, you should probably work, even just a little bit. During my 6 week leave I was itching to do some work.
Re: Pros and Cons..
I'm disregarding the last 3 pages.
