June 2012 Moms

DaDa and MaMa ?

Anyone's LO saying these?? or Baba?  DS is 6.5 months and has shown no signs of saying these.... I'm not really worried, just curious as to what others are doing around this age.

He babbles a lot and "sings" but no sign of forming those sounds yet!

  • DD did it around 6 months my son does not even seem close.  But he is much more physical than she was at this age.

  • So far the only consonant sounds DD says are "guh" & "ba". she babbles those pretty frequently, but mostly she is still just babbling vowel sounds & squeals

  • We get lots of "ah-goo" and "hey/hi/ha." Occasionally he'll give a "dee" or a "buh" but that's about it right now.

We get the Hey/Hi/Ha sounds too!  Sometimes right on que... I'll say his name and he'll say "Hey" right after or "Yea" haha sounds like that anyway!

I want to hear a mama lol

  • I hear a lot of "mamama," "dadada," "nanana" and "bababa." It's pretty cute, even at 3:30 AM when he should be sleeping.
  • Not yet. Can't wait until he starts saying "mama"! I'll bet he says "dada" first though. My H has been trying to get him to say it for awhile now. :P

This is us. DS started with bababababa which coincidently means dad in Chinese. And now has moved onto dadadadada. Where is the mamamammaa??

DD has been saying dada for a few months now.  No signs of mama and I can't wait!

  • We just started getting Dada and Mama with intention, meaning when she was hungry and I wasn't getting my breast out fast enough for her she started pathetically calling "mama mama mama" and now looks at DH and says Dada. Also we get "hey/hi" sounds and "baba" sounds. I sing ba-ba-black sheep to her all the time though, so probably from that. It's all so exciting!
