need advice about a friend....

I have a friend that I have known for about 11 years now. She is a good friend and is there for me no matter what. However, she has gotten involved with a man that is no good. He is in jail (again) for drugs and seems to be dragging her down with him. He gets out in a few months and she wants to marry him and have a baby with him.

Im not going to lecture her because she is a grown woman and seems to be aware of how messed up this situation is. My problem is that when he gets out I dont want to be around him and I certainly dont want my child around him. I dont want this man at my house or even to know where I live. He is a criminal and from all of the stories that I have heard I just dont think that any good can come of having him around.

How do I maintain my friendship but avoid having to deal with her fiance? Its such an akward situation, but I have my own family to worry about and I am picky about the people that I have in my home and around my kid. What if we have friends over or go out, how do you invite one and not the other without seeming like an a**hole?

I just realized that this was meant for JULY 2012 lol... but any advice is still welcome

Your family is first. If this guy worries you and you don't want him in your home then I would be honest with your friend and risk losing the friendship. Everyone gets to make their own choices... she made hers and you have to make yours. I would just pull back and let things get distance. You can always be her friend but sometimes at a far distance is best.
