I have started putting LO into the nursery at night during the week. He makes a lot of noise when sleeping so my DH can't sleep with him in the room. He's not sleeping alone though. I sleep in the recliner in his room during the week and on the weekend I put him in the bassinet in our room. He has slept alone in there during the day at nap time. I can watch him on my computer or phone to see if he's starting to wake up.
I'm tempted to try DS in his nursery to see if he sleeps better, but if he's going to be waking up every hour I'd rather not have to walk to and from his room all night. Once he is sleeping better I plan on transitioning him.
Our nursery isn't done yet, but DD has been sleeping in the living room alone since night 2 home. I can't get any sleep with all the little noises, so I kicked her out ; her room is just about done so I'll move her over this week probably.
We do one daytime nap in the nursery, put LO in his pack n' play next to our bed most of the night & he only sleeps in our bed after that 4 am feeding because he's usually extra fussy & gassy at that point. Big improvement over a week ago when he would only sleep in our bed and gigantic improvement over 2 weeks ago when he would only sleep on our chests.
our LO has been sleeping in her nursery at night since the first night we brought her home (she is a noisy sleeper!). During the day she naps in her PNP because it's downstairs where we spend all our time, but at night she sleeps in her room and we sleep in ours.
LO sleeps in his crib in the nursery since the first day home. Our room is right across the hall. During the day he is being held or sleeps in his swing in the living room where we spend our awake time.
LOs have been in their cribs in their nursery from the start and do just fine. Our room is just feet away though. They do daytime napping in the pnp/bouncy seat/someone's arms downstairs but the nursery is for nighttime.
Allie will be 6 weeks tomorrow and this is her third night sleeping in her crib in her room. She's not alone in there though-as we have a daughter who is 3. So far everything has gone great! (Their room is right across the hall) She has slept much better since we've put her in there, and only waking once a night to eat and not acting fussy like before.

BFP #1 12/02/11, M/C 12/08/11
BFP #2 04/06/12, DD born 12/20/12

DD is still in our room.
We moved DS when he was about 8 weeks. Once he was sleeping nice long strechtes.
Probably will do the same with DD.
