For all the twin mommies out there, I was wondering whether you have one crib that both of your babies sleep/slept in, or two -- one for each baby? Did you start them off sharing a crib and then split them out at some point, and if so, when?
You need two cribs- my guys slept in their own cribs from the time they were about a month old. They spent 17 days in the NICU and then at home they slept in a PNP for two weeks. I think that is why they have been such good sleepers- plus my John was always a big mover- and they both hated to be swaddled- so sleeping alone was required for safety (not just the SIDS arguement- but suffocation was the biggest worry for me at the time)
Definitely two. We're not even out of the NICU yet and one is allllll over the crib they have her in now. No way she wouldn't wake up her sister...and thats all before even talking the SIDS risk.

We never crib shared. You'll need two eventually so just buy two (many places give 10% discount for second).
Agreed. I'd go ahead and buy two now if you can. We didn't right away, partly to spread out expenses, but I wish we had bought them at the same time because we ended up having to buy a different type of crib that totally didn't match for the second one. Ours did share for the first 6 months (until they were done sleeping swaddled) but I still think if you can at all swing it, I would go ahead and start out with two.
I asked the same thing 8 weeks ago. We decided to do two cribs because we'll need them eventually. One will be in our room where I plan to co-sleep them until they start waking each other up. When that time comes I'll be prepared to move them to seperate beds or rooms if need be.

Good to know. My apologies that I asked a question that was recently asked. I have tried searching for the questions I have before posting them, but the search function on this board really sucks.

My girls are almost 6 weeks and currently sleep in the RNPs, but I will be transitioning them to the crib for naps this week. I just have one crib right now. the girls sleep swaddled so I plan to stick with just one until they start rolling around, then I will put the second crib together. I am hoping they can share until 6 months since I would like to wait until we move to a new house. I have NO space in our current, tiny condo.

I'm glad you asked because I was wondering too!
Agree w/this. Our twins are still in bassinets, but my older boys were 22 months apart and we needed 2 cribs.
two- even though they shared your tummy for 9 months, they need separate cribs. If one wakes up cries, thrashes around, then you risk
two upset babies and just one mama. (my sis has twin boys -now almost 4 years old)
