Does anybody have the Graco snugride car seat? I'm thinking we will go with this one. I originally wanted a travel system but after reading reviews and these boards I'm thinking a less bulky stroller is the way to go.
I'm thinking about getting the Graco snugrider infant stroller frame. Anybody try this? How long can I use this stroller for? For as long as baby is in the infant car seat? Or not quite as long?
Any suggestions for what stroller to get for when baby out grows the infant car seat/stroller frame combo?
I'm hitting 20 weeks tomorrow and I've heard rumors that my baby shower is in the works so its time to register!
Re: Graco snugride/Stroller frame
We had the BJ City Mini as our secondary stroller. We started using it around 3m, reclined with a snuzzler, because the harness was still quite big at that point and she couldn't sit up yet. I think we were able to use it normally around 6m. It's a dang good stroller.
I personally do not know anything about the stroller frame.
We are getting the graco snugride35 as our car seat and then getting the city select stroller. The stroller can be turned into a double - which will be nice - since we would like 2 kids - we won't have to buy a second stroller. It is a fantastic stroller - compact, fold down easily, but still has space- it's actually one of the top selling strollers at the moment. For infant - you buy the car seat adapter and the car seat sits right onto the stroller, then when the baby is out of the carseat, you just attach the stoller seat again.

Here is the link for the stroller if you want to browse around and read up on it.
Good luck!
We have the snugride and the frame. We got it because the travel system stroller we were given didn't fit in our truck and barely fit on the backseat, I wasn't really comfortable with it by the baby anyway (two door Jeep). We used it all the time until he was independently sitting and wanted to sit "up" in a stroller so he could see better, which was at 6 months. It was great, when we were on vacation when he was 3 months old we even used it at a few outdoor restaurants. When we switched it was to a cheap umbrella stroller, I was already pregnant with DS2 and knew I would be looking into doubles anyway. The umbrella stroller has held up just fine, we still use it. Ds2 we didn't use the stroller frame as often, I usually wore him, we stopped using it at about 6 months. But I'm still glad I had it.
The only two downsides I have to the frame, the cupholder (there's only one and then a key holder) falls off easily, and you have to take the carseat out to get to the basket underneath.
Ds1 hit the height limit for his snugride at 11 months. DS2 is 9 and half months and still in his snugride. DS1 is in a myride 65 now, and we have one for DS2 when the time comes.
This is our plan right now, we'll check out the Chicco Liteway Plus too though, we test drove the graco and chicco frames and much preffered the graco (and it was the snugrider elite). It manuevered very well, the basket opens from the fron tot fit big stuff underneath, it opens/closes MUCH easier than the chicco and all in all seemed better.
Yup you use the stroller for as long as you use the infant seat.
Personally I am in love with our current Chicco Liteway and planned to use that after we switched from the infant seat and frame. It reclines completely flat, the foot rest can fold up and there is a hide-away fabric boot, and a 5 point harness so it works well for a little baby. It's lightweight, slim and maneuvers like a dream! We love ours.
ETA: We opted for a frame instead of a travel system/full sized stroller this time because we despised our set we had with M. The full sized stroller just didn't steer well, it was huge and clunky and so so heavy and we never even used the stroller itself without the car seat because it was so awful, that's when we bought our liteway (M was 4-5 months I think?) and we've been using it since.
