My DD naps some days, but not others. She is almost 3. Usually if she naps, she doesn't go to bed until really late, but some days she is melting down by noon and needs her nap. On days where she doesn't nap, she does quiet time in her crib.

DD1 quit napping at home (Sat and Sun) and with my MIL (Thur) right after she turned 2. She still naps great at daycare. She does fine on the days she doesn't take a nap and sleeps 10-12 hours at night.
It seems pretty variable from ppl I have talked to & on here... my kids stopped napping at home (or resisting it most days) shortly after 3 but still nap with no problem at daycare. Some days they can skip nap at home & be totally fine (and go to bed earlier, yay!) but other days they completely still melt down by 5pm if they dont nap. When my kids do nap during the day they have a lot of trouble going to sleep at night, esp DS so we have started asking DC to limit naps to an hour to help w/ that. I know a lot of ppl whose kids have older siblings will say their kids stop napping earlier b/c they know the older sib(s) are up and doing other things or whatever.
So I'd say between 2 & 4 is pretty normal. I have a friend w/ a 4 yr old who still naps (and goes to bed by 8!?) but I think that is pretty unusual.
DD started doing nap but not sleeping around 2 1/2. I still do quiet time but now I try to avoid letting her sleep because it adversely affects bedtime.
DD stopped napping around 2.5 but will sometimes fall asleep in the car on the way to our activities after dinner. The car rides are short so it doesn't hurt to have her rest then. We did get her to take a nap once since she stopped and it took forever to get her to sleep that night so we just keep them out of the routine.
It's time now for us. He is almost 3. When he takes a nap during the day he is up laying in bed playing for over an hour every night. But if he doesn't nap, he is fine during the day (we do a "relaxing time") & he goes to sleep very quickly at night (within 1/2 an hour).
It's hard because he is still in a room at daycare where they push sleeping. I'm looking forward to him moving up (which should happen in March) to the next room where they just do quiet time. That will complete the no nap transition for us.

My oldest can go without about once every couple of weeks, but other then that she takes a 2 to 3 hour nap every day. Sometimes she's skips mulitple naps a week, but then she usually is a basket case by Friday!
I have a friend whose almost 5 year old still naps every day, and asks for naps, so hopefully we can still have naps mostly everyday here for a while!

Re: what age so kids stop napping
My DD stopped right after she turned two... it's taken some work, but she at least does quiet time alone in her room while her brother naps.
I don't see DS giving his up any time soon... I'm hoping it will last until he's 5.
DD is almost two and takes a two to three hour nap, so I don't see her giving it up anytime soon.

Dd can't do a day without a nap. She is usually melting down my 2 pm and wake up around 7am.
I plan to do naps for as long as we can....even in elementary school
