Interesting about elecare and solids

....at least for us....so my twins have been on elecare since 6 weeks and they are almost 10 months. For almost two months they have been eating things with milk proteins...for the past month things like waffles, pancakes, toast, butter in potatoes and more. I have not done cheese or yogurt. Anyways I tried the alimentum mixed with elecare for a week and it really wasn't working. Looser stools, and more mucusy. So I'm just sticking with the elecare and now the poops are normal again....but I thought the whole thing was strange.....the foods they eat contain milk proteins that aren't broken down at all yet they couldn't really tolerate the alimentum. I test their poop sporadically too and no blood with the solids...just thought it might be interesting to share. Anyone have a similar situation?

  • Alimentum is corn based right, like Nutramigen? Could it be that?

  • DD uses elecare too.  We are waiting for some blood test results and then we will be cleared to start trying some foods with milk proteins.  The pedi isn't having us change formulas.  If DD tolerates foods with milk protein she'll have us try WCM but that is probably because she has passed the 1 year mark.

what is WCM?  She might do fine....mine do great with the solids with milk proteins. But not with alimentum. Weird.
