So I'm wide awake for whatever reason at 530am and have been for an hour...my point...
When we had our first ultrasound Jan 3, I was 9w1d, but measured 8w4d. I just went to my period tracker where I logged sex days, and low and behold, 8w4d before Jan 3...we did it! I knew it was one of 2 days in my ovulation window...this is soo cool for the numbers person I am!!!

I know when my LMP was and I know what they say...but still am awesome coinsidence!!!
I don't think the PPs are the ones who don't get it..... Pregnancy dating starts from lmp (if you o late- then you will *generally* measure from about 2 weeks before you O, if your luteal phase is normal.) So, you would have had to O around Nov 18, and had sex anywhere from Nov 14 - Nov 19, give or take, to be 8w4d on Jan 3rd.
I wish my insomnia allowed me to think that clearly.
I was WIDE awake this morning at 5 after waking up from a series of nightmares (wtf, I'm 3 for 3 these last few nights with nightmares!). I kept thinking I was seeing ghosts and/or intruders! (what my nightmares were about)
I don't understand the attitude on the coincidence of it all!!! I have it marked we had sex on the 11th...the measurement of 8w4d was exactly from then to Jan 3....why am I getting a lecture when the facts are right there?? It's pretty cool!!!!
No one's giving you attitude, just pointing out that your sexy time was not the day you conceived.
And for the record, 8w4d before Jan 3 is Nov 4th, NOT Nov 11th. Are you forgetting the week that would be 0w1d, 0w2d, ect? Start at Nov 4th and count forward, you will see that I mean.
ETA: Nov 5th is actually Day 1- I started with 0w0d for some reason
No one is trying to give you attitude, the PPs were simply trying to educate you because you are misinformed. Please try and read a little closer to get what we are saying. The day that you have sex which results in a baby is NOT day one or even week one of your pregnancy its WEEK 2. The first day of your last period is day one. So if you really want to know the sex sessionwhich resulted in your pregnancy.
1.Go back to the first day of your last period (week 1)
2. count forward to week 2,
3.sometime during THAT week (WEEK 2) is when you conceived.
We all understand that its a coincidence that you had sex on the 11th which is 8 weeks 3 days ago, but that is all it is, a coincidence, its not possible for you to have conceived that day. If you had really conceived on that day you would be 10 weeks 3 days NOT 8 weeks
Edit: The 2 weeks rule is actually only if you ovulate exactly 14 days after the first day of your period which most women do not. This is how doctors date your pregnancy until an ultrasound can be done, a more accurate way for you to see when you actually concieved would be to
1. Take how far you are today (8 weeks 4 days?) and subtract 2 weeks (because remember there is no baby egg or sperm in the first two weeks of your pregnancy) That should put you at 6 weeks 4 days
2. Now count backwards 6 weeks 4 days, that will put you within a few days (if not on the day of) that you had sex which resulted in pregnancy. You may count back and find that you did not have sex on the day that is 6 weeks before today, but also remember that sperm can live in your body for up to 5 days, so you can have sex, but not get pregnant until a few days after that sex session

You boned your s/o at some point too! We alI did! This isn't random, it's the August moms board. I'm free to write what I want due to my pregnancy because I'm due in August.
I'm just pointing out, in this case random things. I keep waking up in the middle of the night, maybe a positive person can write and say they can relate, and maybe there are other number ppl out here who think its cool. I'm not looking for negativity or criticism. Don't comment on my posts if you can't relate and don't care about what I'm writing!

I guess I'll spell it out for you. I was just trying to tell you in a round about aka less harsh way that saying random shizz like that gets you side eyed, makes you look like you don't understand how your body works and it would be best suited to ramble diary type posts in a blog. This isn't the first "almost incoherent" post you have made. Unfortunately for us, I don't think it will be the last.

Feel free to comment. If I think it's rude, I have the freedom to report it! We're not here to tell each other they are dumb and repeatedly wrong. If you don't like or agree then why waste your time?? We're carrying babies and random things come up, if I feel like sharing then so be it. This is all new to me, I love it all and there are less exciting moments, so when something is really exciting I may just post about it. Deal with it! If you insist on pointing out incoherent things, seriously it's auto correct, use your brain and figure it out or move on.

I'm confused, are you excited that you had sex 8w4d before your u/s, because the numbers were the same (even though you math is wrong as I pointed out earlier, and that was 7w4d before your u/s) and NOT because that's when you thought you conceived?
I thought from your OP that you were relived to see that you had sex then because you thought that would mean weren't measuring behind. I assumed you just didn't understand how pregnancy dating worked (which is not uncommon for FTM)..... maybe I misinterpreted what you were trying to say.
