Stroller wheel material

The stroller I just bought BJ City Micro https://m.target.com/p/babyjoggercitymicrostroller//A14180854 has plastic wheels and I am planning on doing a lot of walking on paved trails when the baby comes. Will this material get dings and make the wheels wobbly? Are rubber wheels better for walking light jogging? Thanks!

Re: Stroller wheel material

  • You won't be able to run with the city micro or the city mini. They are not jogging strollers. If you want to jog you would need a stroller with big air filled bike tires.
Hard rubber tires would do fine on pavement or walking over gravel occasionally so I doubt the wheels would become wobbly from that.

  • I don't have that stroller but prolonged walking with a plastic wheeled stroller isn't super comfortable. It's just nowhere near as smooth of a ride as rubber. I believe the City Micro is more like a glorified umbrella stroller, which isn't bad but might just not be what you're looking for. I have the Baby Jogger City Elite and love it for outside walking. It's good on and off trails and has a incredibly smooth ride. My son loves it and it's great to push. However, it's no good for mall trips or anywhere that requires smaller maneuvering so I have a second smaller stroller for that but I use the BJ whenever I can.
