Throws up formula!

Every time I try to give my daughter formula she throws it all up. Sometimes it's an hour later, maybe 2, but she always throws it all up til it's out!
I mixed just 1 oz with bm today and still she cannot tolerate any!
Anybody else experience this or have any advice!?
I've heard trying soy,,, I have yet to try it we have tried 3 different types. I'm not in a hurry to get her on formula but I don't have a ton of frozen bm and would like to feel free to be away for one entire night knowing formula could be our back up....
Thank for any ideas!!

We started with Baby's Only Organic Soy formula first. My LO has done fine with it. While a bit more expensive, it was worth my piece of mind to stay away from the dairy for now as I am diary intolerant and worried about him having the same issues.

Where do you find that kind! Whole foods?

  • Your baby is probably having an intolerance and it's a good thing she is throwing it up otherwise she could get a rash etc... I am not an expert but when I was a baby I was lactose intolerant. I tried carrot milk and soy milk. Can you call your pediatrician? I am sure he or she could advise you.

It is one of those reasons why I am still breastfeeding and I haven't switched yet to formula. I know how annoying it is when you have to pump to go out. When I do I always stress out not to have enough milk... But I add baby food to his meal: vegetable and apple sauce so I am sure he is not starving. You could also add rice cereal to your milk to make it thicker...

  • My mom said when I was a baby she had to feed my brother and me enfamil because it has soy and no milk, my family does have some issues with dairy not sitting right with us too. its not intolerance, but it messes with us! So try a soy based one!
  • This happened the first time we gave my son formula. He was and still is mostly breastfed but when I was working we ended up having to supplement. Pretty much all of the first bottle we gave him came right back up. We switched from Enfamil to Similac Organic and would stop him after every ounce for a burp and it seemed to help.

  • Our pedi/ my colleague discourages soy bc of the phytoestrogens... If your LO won't take any formula you could also look for donor milk at eatsonfeets website, just find the chapter for your state. The spitting up might be less allergy and more distaste, too, so might get better with time.
