Going for my first insemination tomorrow any advice?

After a decade of of endometriosis and surgeries,chemically induced menopause,tons of medication and cysts.....clomid,more cysts, fertility shots...we are going for our first insemination. I'm also very new to THIS site. I was wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom for me. I'm really nervous. And how soon after do you know if your preg?

Oh and I left out I had high prolactin also and a pituitary adenoma....found out that's y I couldn't take birth control all those years.....

thank you so much for the feedback!! Relaxing is super hard for me hah but I'm gonna really try! I heard you could find out 48-72 hrs after through bold test. I wonder if that's true....anyway again thank you

I assume you are having an IUI? They are so easy. I don't feel anything at all.

Do you mean a blood test? Mine is always 14 days after the IUI. I'm sure you could do it 12 days after, but I haven't heard of anything sooner than that.

As pp said, it takes 710 days for a fertilized egg to implant. After implantation your body starts producing HCG, which is the hormone detected with pregnancy tests. It is not possible to know if you are pregnant until your body starts producing HCG, regardless of your testing method. If you are using a trigger shot in conjunction with your IUI you run the risk of a false positive if you test too early. Trigger shots contain HCG, and it stays in your system for 1014 days after using it. Some women like to test out their trigger shot, meaning they take a home pregnancy test every day after IUI until it is no longer positive. At that point, you can be sure the HCG has left your system and a positive test anytime after is likely a true positive. Most doctors recommend not testing until 14 days after the IUI.

The actual process of IUI is pretty easy. Usually it feels similar to a pap. Of you have a curved cervix it is a bit more uncomfortable and takes longer, but it's still not bad. Good luck!
