allergies

Has anyone's LOs had an allergic reaction to solids? I gave DS a little bit of oatmeal last night(not even an ounce) and he woke up this morning with red blotchiness around his mouth and on his belly.

Should I only give him foods in the morning in case he has a more serious reaction to something else? I'm not going to give him the oatmeal anymore obviously but I'd hate for something else we give him to cause a worse reaction.

I read you should give new foods in the morning or early afternoon in case they do have a reaction, then the pediatricians office might still be open.

Did you take a pic? I would run this by the pedi asap before offering any more.

DD is allergic to eggs and we think maybe peanuts. You proceed VERY cautiously with possible food allergies. 

It's probably just a contact irritation, as there isn't much in oatmeal for him to be reacting to, but you never know. I would consult with pedi for sure.

Thanks! I'm definitely going to hold off on anything else until I can talk to the pedi and show them the reaction. He was pretty messy with eating and the redness seems to be all around his mouth where it was dripping out. Thats what made me think it was from the oatmeal.
