So I went yesterday for LO appt, she will be 9 months on the 12th. The ped was mentioning that she should be crawling, pulling herself up and walking around furniture at this point. She does not crawl yet but will grab for things, feed herself by picking up small items, etc.
I do not remember (well I know) DD #1 did not do this at this point. DD #1 did not crawl until 11 months and walked right after.
She made me feel horrible about it. She said we need to watch this and she checked her spine by feeling it as well as legs for issues. There were no visible issue regarding those.
Just looking to see where others LO are at.
Thanks ladies
Re: Is your 9 month old "pulling up" on furniture, etc?
Lillian does pull up and crawl but no sign of furniture walking. I figured she would be doing this by now only because she started crawling around Thanksgiving.
I don't think there is anything to worry about especially if your DD was the same way. My pedi just sent a questionnaire for me to fill out and bring to her 9 month appt next Friday. There are things she is not doing or close to from what I can tell.
What? I have NEVER heard of anyone being concerned about crawling and pulling up by 9 months. Not ever.
From Babycenter.com "Babies develop skills using different methods and different timetables. But if your child hasn't shown an interest in getting mobile by some means (whether it's creeping, crawling, rolling, or scooting), figured out how to move her arms and legs together in a coordinated motion, or learned to use both arms and both legs equally by the time she's a year old, bring it up at her next doctor's appointment. Keep in mind that premature babies may reach this and other milestones several months later than their peers."
My LO does this, but I have quite a few friends who have kids btwn 9-12 months and about 1/2 of them don't do this. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about at all!
Yup. He'll walk kind of around furniture, but not super fast or anything. He wasn't doing that at all 2 weeks ago, so once they start crawling, it goes fast!
ETA: Don't feel guilty that yours isn't...my point was that she might not be now, but you'd be surprised at how quick she masters it once she starts trying.
