Baby Names

Rosemary

Like, dislike??  We really want to name the next baby after family and I am starting to lean toward Rosemary (my grandma) as my favorite.  Other options are Teresa (my MIL, would definitely call her Tessa which I like, Teresa isnt my favorite) or Laura (my mom).   DS is Ames (pronounced aims) after DH grandfather.  Which name do you think goes well with Ames, or we are open to using these names as a MN if you have a first name suggestion.  Thanks!

Re: Rosemary

  • I like Rosemary. I know an adorable little Rosemary, nn Rosie.

  • Love it, actually!

Strongly prefer it over Teresa or Laura, although those names are fine choices as well.

  • I really like Rosemary. I love Teresa (Tessa) and have it on my list so that would be my top pick for you. Teresa Rosemarie is pretty.

Laura is fine, but a little dated for me, I'd probably keep it in the MN spot. I don't love the flow of Rosemary Laura, but that could work too.

  • I love Rosemary, Tessa and Laura, although not a fan of Teresa.  I feel like Tessa or Laura go a little bit better with Ames, but they are all nice.

This. I think Rosemary goes best with your DS.

  • Nice name, but all I think of is Rosemary's Baby.
  • I love Rosemary and the family connection makes it even better for me. I also love your DS's name!

That was my first thought too, but I don't really know how popular that book and movie is anymore, so maybe it doesn't matter too much :)

  • Would you consider Rosemarie as a little twist? I think it pairs nicely with Ames (which is an awesome name, btw!) and it rolls of the tongue in such a lovely way.
