I was trying to not post about weight gain but I am worried about mine (even though my doctor isn't). I've gained 37lbs and am only 24 weeks! All he said was that I was measuring two weeks ahead. I need to slow this down somehow!
I have a feeling that appointment cannot be too far off for me. I'm still relatively low on the weight gain spectrum (but was overweight before getting pregnant), but now that Im in the third tri I feel like one of these weeks I'm just going to explode, like it is waiting to sneak up on me. Haha.

I'm right there with you. I was relatively overweight before I got pregnant and I've only gained 8 lbs since getting pregnant. It did help that I lost weight in the 1st tri, but I'm scared it's all going to sneak up on me
My dr said no more than 15 lbs... I'm scared. Lol.

We're twinsies. :-) I've gained 8, but my doc said to keep it between 15-25, so I have a little more flexibility than you!
I am in the same boat. I have gained the recommended 4 pounds a month at all of my appointments, I have one on Tuesday and when I weighed myself this morning at home I was up 9 pounds!! YIKES!! That puts me at a total gain of 23 pounds and I am 26 weeks so I don't feel it is too bad but still a shock! I will have a light eating weekend, being really careful not to over indulge so my number doesn't get any higher! So glad to see I am not the only one!

I gained 70 total with my first (I was a size 4 at the beginning). Took me a year to lose all but 10 lbs and got down to a size 6. Over the following year I gained 10 lbs back (got a little lazy) so I was a size 8 when I got pregnant with this baby. So far, I've gained 20 lbs and I've been trying to eat healthy and walk 5ks 2-3 times a week. The weight is still coming on, even though it is slower than last time.
Don't worry. Try to eat healthy. Try to get some exercise. You'll lose it after you have the baby.
I was worried when I went on Wednesday since it would be my first weigh in since the holidays and I know had a few too many cookies.....I was absolutely shocked and even stepped off and back on to discover I was down 2 lbs from my early Dec appt....and I needed to take a poop, which in my book is always another lb or so! Guess the holidays were kind...the 3rd tri however, I'm sure will not be kind. I am up about 14lbs total so far and i'm hoping to not go over 25-30 per what my OB expects!
Glad to hear I'm not alone. I refrain from reading/commenting on the weight gain posts because I have gained a lot already too. Although my doctor specifically told me she is not one to comment on weight gain and hasn't breathed a word about it to me, I still worry about it sometimes-- especially after I gained 9 pounds from my Nov to Dec appointments!

Ya, some weight gain is probably headed my way. I've only gained 4 lbs but I am/was overweight to begin with. The first nurse I saw said I shouldn't gain any weight at all. How is that possible? Then I asked her to give me a calorie/day guideline or advice maybe around 1800 a day? She said, "Oh I wouldn't know about that since I've never had a problem with weight." Then my doctor told me 10-15 lb gain would be ok, but not over. I'm scared because I've heard you usually really pack it on in the third trimester!

Try not to worry too much. The important thing is that you (try to) maintain healthy eating habits. Not everyone gains weight the same way during pregnancy. My co-worker gained 60 lbs when she had her daughter. She was then back in her skinny jeans within a month of delivery. I may hate her just a tad bit

Ugh this whole gain weight but don't gain weight thing is such a headache! I just had an appt this morning and gained 7 lbs in 3 weeks. Oops. But she gave me a little pass because Christmas and New Years were in between my appt's. I wasn't super surprised. I knew I had eaten too much over the holidays. So now I am up 24 pounds at 29 and a half weeks. Just worried about what the next 10ish weeks will bring since now is when baby will start to pack on the fat.
I was overweight to begin with, and was trying not to gain too much. I lost a few the first trimester due to MS and up til my November appt was up 4 lbs. Felt pretty smug about it I guess and at my Dec 28th appt i gained another 7. Damn Christmas cookies!! Youre not alone, trust me! Im just really trying to rein it in and keep the gain to a minimum from now on. I really hope the 3rd trimester is good to all of us!
The weight gain often slows down and sometimes even plateaus in the later months. I gained 8 lbs. during Nov. then only 1 lb. in Dec. I'm expecting a jump for Jan. because my belly definitely got bigger (and, I confess, I'm having trouble reeling in my eating habits after the holidays). As PPers said, just try to make healthy choices and you can focus on losing after baby is born.
I am up 9lbs since my last visit. My dcotor said maybe it was due to the holidays... lol yea lets go with that. I have gained a total of 21 so far and I'm 26w. My dr said anywhere from 25-35 is normal for my age and pre pregnancy weight. I think Ill be closer to the 35 range...
I've gained 19 total, 6 both last month and this month so I was doing great before that! Then today the nurse says, I see you've gained a little weight and commented on how it's around the holidays and haha whatever. It kind of irked me though because no, it's not the holidays. I did not over indulge or eat that poorly over the holidays. plus, I've been walking 1.5 miles a day since Christmas on top of my already physical job, and I've eating super super healthy! Ugh I put in all this work and try so hard to be healthy and still get holiday weight gain "jokes". At least I know I'm doing everything I can though, but still.

Make a pregnancy ticker
this scares me - my OB is weight-obsessed and has me scared of gaining too much for fear he'll give me a condescending glare and weight-gain speech!

We can't wait to meet our Blake Katherine!!
Woohoo! Do I win anything? A chocolate medal, perhaps?

11 lbs here too. Think I sampled too many of my fresh baked cookies over the holidays. I kept saying it was a quality check!
