Gestational hypertension, induction date set.

Welp, here at the end of an almost text book pregnancy i have developed hypertension. I have a 24 catch i have to do tomorrow, a u/s next week, and two NSTs.. Then thursday night they start the induction process. I know i should feel nervous, but there is something calming in knowing the end is near. In a little over a week i will be holding my baby boy in my arms, AND his father gets to be here which is basically a miracle. I feel guilty for being relieved, but my NST today went perfect and the doctor says baby is fine. So now it is just waiting a week to get things going. So i am choosing to be excited. 

Hope everyone is having a good day today. Congrats to everyone with outside babies, and those who are in labor :)

7/5/11 MC at 8 weeks. 5/17/12 BFP, twins EDD 1/20/13! 6/20/12 Baby B's heart has stopped beating. 8/31/12 Baby A is a boy! And is perfectly healthy and thriving. 1/19/2013 emergency c-section, Thoren is perfect. 3/1/2013 told i will never be able to conceive again. 12/16/13 told they were wrong!

    I had a very similar situation and ended up being induced unexpectedly this past Tuesday due to low amniotic fluid likely caused by the gestational hypertension. Enjoy your last few days prebaby and be prepared to deliver at any time. Keep us posted!

    i had pregnancy induced hypertension too.....i was on and off bed rest and worked from home...my bp shot up around 34 weeks or so and went for weekly bpp and nst....around 37 weeks i did another 24 hour collection which was fine but my bloodwork showed possible pre e....so they scheduled me a c section at 38w1d bc baby girl was frank breech....we had been talking of induction at the first sign of high bp...she wasn't going to let me get to 40 weeks....but went c section since baby wasn't turning

    Good luck. I had PIH with DD but it showed up early. My bp started running high around 24 weeks. I did my first 24 hour urine around 28 weeks and I was put on bedrest at 34 weeks. While on bedrest, I had NSTs and BPPs twice a week and they ended up delivering me at 37 weeks. This time my PIH showed up at 37 weeks, 5 days. They delivered me the next morning.
